Personality:
Binyeo is very carefree, going with life’s motion and just accepting fate. Her content peaceful attitude caused her to give up on fighting on her own behalf. Due to this, many can say she’s quite lazy and procrastinates often. Well in truth it’s because she doesn’t see herself as something to protect, so she’s a more offense than defense gal. She quite often puts things in perspective and sees the bigger picture, so she doesn’t interfere half of the time. She’s the fun mom who lets you do anything you want and always has cool things to do, but draws line. Binyeo likes to show off, whether it be her body or her sons. It’s all harmless fun to her. But truly she’s a caring and gentle person with words of wisdom to help others. She tries hard not to have a bias and listen to other people’s stories in order to find the peaceful route. Binyeo’s curiosity almost defines her, she will literally do anything once (like that one time she tried eating grass). She doesn’t get embarrassed, usually. It’s very hard to get her flustered normally. She’s very flirtatious, playfully teasing and in general being a cocktease. Despite this attitude, Binyeo gave up hope of finding an actual lover who will care for her. She doesn’t see herself as worthy of anyone’s love anymore and due to trauma, doesn’t find herself truly beautiful from the inside out. Binyeo is a maternal woman, always being friendly to kids, listening and taking every word into account. She treats people with respect no matter what.
Bio:
Binyeo’s history is hard to keep track of, she doesn’t talk about anything previous to 4 centuries. There are no real records of her childhood, and it almost seems like she was never a child but just appearing as a full grown demoness. In reality, she was born in a distinguished noble family of great wealth. Due to her status as the eldest daughter in a family with no sons, she was forced to have to social climb, to find a rich and high status husband bear child and keep her mouth shut. Never educated in literature or intellectual studies, Binyeo craves the lime light of glory of kings and war heroes. She wanted to be remembered for centuries to come. Due to this, she often begged or snuck off to victory parties or meetings where she crossdressed and tried to experience a politically powerfully life. But she knew that she could never make her dreams come true, and as she got closer to her marrying age, she met her first love. A loyal captain of her father’s, it was love at first sight. He treated her gallantly, challenging her and respecting her. Her heart was fluttering and her mind racing, she was burning and she wanted to keep him all to herself. Until she saw that her sister had the same reaction. Her younger sister pulled her aside and whispered that she wanted him as her husband, to hold her and to love her. Binyeo couldn’t live with herself stealing her younger sister’s first love; she can still tell you to this day her sister is the sweetest, kindest, and most trusting person she has ever met. Deciding that is was for the best, she gave up her happiness for her sister, the two marrying only a few months later. Due to this, pressure was increasing for Binyeo to marry. Unable to make a clear decision, she frantically chose a council men of the king to boost her family status and wealth. It was a regrettable choice as the man was a disgusting slob, often treating Binyeo as nothing more than a decorative doll, she didn’t have feelings or thoughts, she just looked pretty. Binyeo put up with the love less marriage and she watched her younger sister blossom with joy, bearing children with the only man she loved at that point and the love she could never have. It was agony, but she relished the small glances he make at her. But she noticed over the years, he had changed. It could’ve been his new position as a baron of land, but he began to grow pompous and cruel. Even daring to make a pass at Binyeo who refused, unable to betray her sister. But that didn’t mean he didn’t lie. Soon enough any peasant could tell you Binyeo slept with him, even though that wasn’t the truth. Binyeo couldn’t fan out the wild fire and once the news was out, retribution was upon them. Her first love had accused her of controlling him with magic and that it wasn’t his fault, effectively socially ousting her.
To make it up to her betrayed sister, he banished Binyeo, revoking her family name as well as her horn. Breaking it off, he left a scar on her, a stain on her beauty to ensure that she will never control another again. Binyeo, understandably upset, ran. She ran for days, not knowing her destination other than chasing the sun in order to find a new life where she can forget her pain. Wanting to fulfill her dreams of motherhood, Binyeo disgusted herself as a human and became a matron of sickly orphans during war. She cared for them like they were her own children when everyone had abandoned them, and watched them die in her arms as they succumbed to death. Enraged at the slaughter of innocent lives and the abandonment of children, she began to train in the art of fighting in order to protect the ones who can’t do so themselves. Knowing that she’ll need to return to a life of politics to truly change the way lands lived on, she left her human life by staging her death.
After this, she served as queens’ advisor, head priestesses, Queen (once), shadowy puppet master to the royal or noble families, matchmaker for arranged marriages, witch of the mountains, an admired general lost to time, and other positions like this to influence humans while disgused. She did get married many times but only in the interest of power, there was no romantic interest.
She faked giving birth or being the mother of royal children a lot. But she still took care and treated them like her own. Usually, Binyeo faked her own death to replicate the aging of humans. Her interest was more geared towards war, the art and game of battle. She had grown bloodthirsty, wanting to avenge the treatment of herself and wanting to take out her frustrations over her battered form. Her tactics and expertise in the many battles she has seen and participated in sharpened her militaristic skills. Due to this, she was seen as a strong prospect for many people in power, being more used as an object than an equal. She was sent to death so many times that she lost count, but always escaped. Due to this, Binyeo has lost the hope to even consider that anyone will truly love her and accepted that in the end she will eternally be wishing for someone to hold her hand.
Eventually, she left the game of kings to find herself once more. Binyeo focused on her spiritual growth and inner peace, living simple lives as a more or less poor citizen. But her love for battle never ceased as she helped develop new ways of fighting, the freedom she felt by mastering the battlefield with honor gave her a high. She didn’t bother in human activities during this time, becoming a hermit in the mountains above a small village, she was thought to be an otherworldly creature and many villagers made myths and stories about her. Well until a deranged demon challenged her to a fight, which she won. The demon named Boutonniere was distressed of why he wasn’t stronger but she offered a word of advice and some help to gain true strength in oneself. Teaching him discipline and the value of compassion he lacked, the two became close like a mother to a lost child. They respected each other and live together peacefully, both admiring each other’s strengths. Binyeo was truly happy during this time, feeling fulfilled as a teacher and a mother. As a part of his training, Boutonniere was given Chae-Yeon as an egg to test his compassion for other creatures, that being a great success to this day.
They eventually welcomed a new family member, a baby boy dying in the cold mountains. It was rare to see a baby just abandoned like this, especially a boy. Binyeo’s love for children urged her to take the baby, holding the cold infant in her arms, she found a bracelet left by someone caked in dirt. She named him after this clue of his past, taking Jingtailan into her home. Raising him since infancy, she trained both of her boys to her best efforts. Both boys loved Binyeo dearly, as she does to them, and to her relief, scared many unwanted suitors away. But it came to the day her human boy grew up and wanted to leave her home. Binyeo didn’t want her son to leave her, she wanted to keep him safe and continue living in their happy family. But knowing that humans are prone to change, she let him go on his own path.
What a surprise to her when he returned years later with an invading army, with the village burning in the distance and blood spilt on the path. Even against her own son, she stood her ground. Every step she could see Jingtailan take, she mentally begged him to run so that wouldn’t have to face each other in war. But without any choice, she sent Boutonniere to protect their home as she took care of the rest of army to prevent their home for centuries being destroyed. She couldn’t let her land get captured and herself or Boutonniere either thrown into prison, enslaved, or their culture to be oppressed. Swiftly, she outsmarted them with traps and quick attacks from their backs, separating the pack and taking them one by one.
Arriving to see Jingtailan dying, she felt a piece of her die with him. She failed to protect her own son, failed to save him from falling to such a degree where he would wage war against them. She had done this. She should’ve kept him close. She never blamed neither Boutonniere or Jingtailan, knowing that if both had a choice they wouldn’t have done this but it took time for her and Boutonniere to live with this. The occupation didn’t help either, Binyeo even fleeing back into hell to avoid being prosecuted. Boutonniere stayed to keep their home safe, and to this day Binyeo regrets not taking him with her. As the years passed and the world rapidly changing, she and her son needed to relearn how to become a part of society. Boutonniere left to find work in the West to keep her financially afloat. When she hears of Boutonniere’s plans for marriage as well as Jingtailan’s falling from heaven, she rushed over to Daten city. She trusted her home to a close old friend. She currently lives alone in a small apartment, often finish nightly company to keep her entertained. She works as a nurse.
