Description
The herringbone stitch is also known as Ndebele stitch. It is most commonly made into a flat piece of beading, or a straight rope. Here is a tutorial to show you how to make it into a rope.Related content

Thank you so much for the tutorial! I have a question, would stretchy beading thread like stretch magic be suitable for making this type of jewelery with?

Probably not. It really needs to be a firm not stretchy thread. It might be worth trying a little bit to see though. Let me know how it goes.

I will, when I go to the craft store I'm going to pick up beads and thread. What sort of thread would you recommend? I understand that the different sizes of beads need finer threads than others but is there a one size fits most type?

You can just use fishing line, much cheaper. If you use smaller seed beads you'll need a really super fine line. You may be able to use a thicker one for the larger beads.

Thank you. When/if I get back to beading, this will be helpful.
