I usually dont draw chains, and I had to make it in a bit of a hurry (I have a big test to revise for tommorow XP)

Everyone had to begin somewhere.
If you knew how I drew in the beginning, you wouldnt believe it.
It took me a lot of practice and trying to learn how to be better to get to my current level. And I still have a whole lot to improve.
[link] One true motivational comic, in a great site. I could suggest you a few others, but it feel to me this is the best one for you at moment.
Anbd further more, you shouldnt look down upon yourself. you can think that others are better than you. and it might be true in some cases. But its becase theyre good, and maybe a further down the road you have just started treading. Never belittle yourself.
Do you know how and what you want to improve?
And are you challenging yourself to try and improve? Trying new things, even if youre afraid it might not work like you would like it to?

and yes i want to improve my drawing skills so i dont have to use someone else bases and references so much, i want to be able to do it myself, lately ive been looking at tutorials on dragoart.com, i decided a couple days ago that im going to start trying harder, and harder, and keep trying to improve, even if i have to redo the same artwork over and over again, until i figure out what im doing wrong, ive learned not too rush my sketches and drawings, that if im feeling tired to stop and take a break. but i didnt say i sucked to make you mad or get sympathy, laughing at myself makes me feel better, keeps me from being depressed that its not turning out the way i want it

And I wasnt really mad.
Its just that I think you should look at things differently.
If you want to improve- stop using bases altogether.
Its bad habit, it doesnt help you improve (it actually stunt your growth), and in many case the bases are wrong or not good enough. So if you want to improve, dont use bases! Thats my biggest tip. Refferences are different matter. references are usefull, and help you improve at really seeing things, and understanding how things work and look. For example, if I tried drawing a car from my memory, since Im not a car fanatic, it wouldnt look so good since Ill forget about minor details I usualy dont notice, but are essential for a car to look realistic and not like some toy.
I cant promise a quick reply, but if you would like me to give my opinion about something, send me a note or a reply with a link to said drawing or sketch.
Things you can try to improve in general - Colour scheme, lighting\shading, antomy, poses, compositions, backgrounds, drawing whats really there and not what your brains tell you - to disable the filters we usually use when we look at the world. Thats why its hard to draw whats infront of you, because our brain focus on specific things and doesnt really let as focus on how things really look. Which is why when people draw a face the eyes would usually be huge, and the mouth small. Did you get what I tried to say?

I just know that if someone told me that, and I wouldnt be so discouraged from how I was, I would have tried harder and been much better than I am today. So I simply cant stand it when someone does the same mistake I did! XD

Although Im not so sure XP, to be honest the technique of using a line to mark where the chains connect and all that came to me in the middle of writing this tutorial XP. So also thank you, for letting me think about that
