Description
The start of something. One of the alien races of the MFL. an all female race that is capable of reproducing with any human like male. The race has not seen any significant evolution is several millennial before they even achieved space flight. They have several reptilian traits and are by and large carnivorous.
The Head tendrils are semi-flexible and comprised mostly of cartilage and muscle. They are part of the respiratory system and feature the creatureβs nasal openings. This composition allows them to consciously and subconsciously be used as part of the race's expressions(similar to eyebrows in that regard). The tendrils continue growing throughout the race's life span and can end up at noteworthy lengths.
- Hilariously while they now appear more similar to the Asari head crests, the tendrils where inspired by the head snakes of the Medusa.
Unlike a human the race's mouth continues through the cheek and nearly to the jaw bone. This allows the jaw to be opened much wider then a human's. Mouth is full of sharp teeth numbering on average 68. The small teeth in the front of the mouth is notable in that they are arranged in two rows.
- The race is generally aware of how unnerving the sight of their bared teeth can be for most species and generally try not to open their mouth overly much during conversation.
- Their tongue is long (average 7in) deeply forked and used like a snake's as part of their sense of smell.
Trying to come up with a name for the race. I'd greatly appreciate suggestions.

While I generally like it as well, I'm not happy with how it transitions into the tail.Β

I sugest the common english name be something like "land siren" (because carnivore, two sets of incisors and cartillage instead of bone like sharks + all female). As for a name in their language i sugest eemorith

Interestingly enough, I used siren as their name in my general docs as a place holder.Β

The most directΒ reason? It's a human word. Whats the chances that an Alien race will call themselves the same name as a human mythological creature? I could see Medusa being a slang term used by humans to identify them (like the various races in Halo), but it's not what they'd called their race themselves.
