Just got back from Mars, it was a cool place
But in reality its Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada
This place really makes you feel like your on another planet, the sand and rocks, the whole landscape is red, and a blue sky complements nicely

Wow... I just came from viewing a B&W image and the jump from that color scheme to this one is most startling (in a good way)! Try it. Look at a B&W image for a while and then flip back to this one. Shows you how much color is actually in this image.

Now Nevada is one of my favorite places in the states, I think why I like it so much is at first glance it looks boring and dead but if you scratch below the surface you will discover Nevada is full of colors and beauty
Next time your in Nevada check out Valley of Fire and Redrock Park, both are fantastic landscapes

This is seriously awesome. So crisp and sharp and SUCH amazing colors!! The blue gradient in the sky really contrasts well with the incredible orange-red tones of the barren landscape. I wish I had more to say, but it's just a gorgeous photo.

Actually they day I shot this it was a bit chilly, about 40 degress in mid febuary, pretty cool for desert weather

Do you use any sort of gradiented filters for this or just a polorizer. Some people are able to get such amazing blue skys and bright forgrounds that simply amaze me. I've gotten it on a few of my photos but I would imagine it all either comes down to filters or the time of day when you shot the picture, and by the looks of it, it looks liek you shot it around 4 or 5 pm?

Lovely shot, my friend. The oranges are beautiful. The textures are wonderful. And seriously, the sky looks perfect. The whole scene looks perfect, in fact. Looks hot, but looks like a nice place. Peaceful. I disagree with the comment above, it doesn't really lack a component to concentrate. It has two main focus points. The very foreground, right near the bottom where the rocks and sand is and the large rock features in the background. Beautiful
