Description
King Aspen is the Deer King of the Everfree Forest and the “Heart of the Forest”, first appearing in the 27th and 28th issues of the “Friendship is Magic” comic series: “Revenge of the Everfree”. Since then, he and some of the other deer characters made minor cameo appearances in the comics.

As with the “The Good, the Bad and the Ponies” arc and the Nightmare Moon comics, “Revenge of the Everfree” is another comic story that I’m not fond of in the slightest.

And can you really blame me?

Everything about the overall story completely undermines the Everfree Forest’s mysterious and chaotic nature. It also contradicts the fact that it’s inhospitable for most sapient creatures to actually live in (Zecora being an exception), that there are no “protectors” or “keepers” of it, and that the forest can only get out of control if something happened to the Tree of Harmony.

The story’s new characters weren’t even all that memorable or much of a standout. Including King Aspen, whom I can hardly recall in terms of his overall personality. His role as a whole seemed to merely be the typical forest ruler trying to preserve his homeland, the usual traits being stern yet noble and wise. It’s hardly what I’d call original considering there are tons of non-MLP characters similar to him.

On a side note to this picture, though…unlike the other pictures, which were photos that I modified by cropping them, this picture is a screenshot I took from a 360 degree turn photo. It’s quite an accomplishment I did, that’s for sure.
