I'm not inedpt... just digitally-challenged, is all!
And toe-socks with sandals is just common sense.
Hahah thanks, Khaki -- oh, and thank you for the !

Thanks, RC!
Yeah, its almost vector.. only using the lasoo instead of the pen tool. XD

ah, thats the trick
pen tool is annoying too though, great for lines, not for fills
still thats a lot of work my friend, good job!

I've tried doing linework with the pen tool with 'stroke path' in photoshop... but I haven't been too happy with the results. I've messed around to get something I can live with, but I still prefer to tablet-draw linework for the control I have.
Do you use the pen tool much for lines?

i've recently started
but mostly for the really long ones
or if i'm aiming for a straight edged look-pen tool is good for ttech art or pictures of sci fi where it requires a lot of stream line control
i love my tablet, but for colouring mostly, i find when i try to outline things in photoshop, they tend to be wobbelly
i'm not good at inking and never have been.
so yah i agree with you their, i don't like digital inking, rather do it by hand (no mater how crappy it is)

Awesome! I think my favorite part is the hat. And you're wearing toe socks! As a dancer, I have many friends who love those.

If I did the hat again I think I'd try a ribbing effect to make it more like a beanie, but I'm glad you like it! Your friends have good taste -- I like toe socks, too! Especially rainbow/striped ones.
Oh, you dance? Awesome! What kinds of dance do you do?

I dance mostly ballet, but a bit of modern and jazz too.

Sounds like a good mix of styles - though I must admit I know very little about dance.

Very cool, Rah! I love the way you've colored this, all vectored; especially the hair - tight!
It's great to see this all finished, lovely work.
We'll look forward to seeing what you've got in the works!

^^ Thanks, Sara! It was fun to try a different style of shading, you know how it is.
Ahaahaa and thanks for saying you're looking forward to seeing the in-progress one. Its taking soooo long to colour.... and I'm still working on the foreground, lol. Though I can't complain, its good practice. Have you got anything in the works at the moment?

Yup... I'd like to try new things, but a) I'm awfully lazy and, b) I've gotten my method down to a near science. ^^
I'm working on another fanart piece for Inkhana's Game Plan, and am just about to get started on the rough draft for the next page of ACS.

Ooo that sounds like some fun fanart. I always enjoy seeing characters drawn by other artists -- it gives a nice insight into different styles and techniques -- and just how different a character can look while still being recognisably the same character.
Hahahahah! Ahhh laziness. XD I hope the draft is going well.

Yup! Moving and furniture shopping are interfering, but I blocked out a thumbnail sketch, and have a very good idea of what it'll look like. But I'm off for some sleep, so I can actually get it started tomorrow, hopefully.

Well done on the legs and feet! Looks pretty cool and vector-ish!
I've never found out exactly what cell shading was though

Thanks! I tried to do them all chubby-like.... ^^
I'm not 100% sure on this definition, but I think cellshading is where you use one block colour to define shadows/highlights. It usually isn't blended into the midtone, too. Its used a lot in animation, since its time-consuming to get a smooth animation with detailed shading and highlights.
A lot of webcomics and anime use cell-shading, too.
