Description
Now Derrick J. Wyatt is notorious for throwing out the names of fake Ben 10 aliens among the reals ones to throw nosy fans of the show off the trail so that the eventual debut will be more of a surprise than a somewhat cheap thriller (think of it like that one guy that spoils the movie you were waiting to see all week). Some fans have taken these names and made actual aliens out of them and, with the assistance and at the request of, surprisingly, a new comer to the scene by the name of !Onto the facts!
Name: Crocduster
Species: Simonesapien
Homeworld: Tunstallia
Powers/abilities: Crocduster's main ability is to absorb the life-essence of his opponents, though Simonesapien's primarily use this to take down fast moving prey. They can launch their feathers like throwing knives and quickly absorb their life energy when they strike an organism, draining them of their essence and quickly killing them in the process. For this reason, Crocduster mostly uses his feathers to pin and trap foes or render them unconscious should the situation call for it.
Crocduster has enhanced speed and can easily outpace most opponents, though nowhere near the speed of XLR8 or Fasttrack.
Crocduster has enhanced agility and reflexes.
Simonesapien's have enhanced senses on par of that of an eagle or hawk and can accurately pick up on incredibly small details from over a mile away as well as hear minute frequencies that most other lifeforms are unable to pick up on.
Crocduster has razor-sharp talons and beak that can do considerable damage, particularly the Velociraptor-like toe-claw they have on either of their feet.
Despite their somewhat goofy appearance, Simonesapiens are actually capable of flight, though they prefer to chase after and run down their prey due to their long legs.
Crocduster's feathers insulate him quite well against freezing temperatures.
Weaknesses: Crocduster can easily overheat due to his heavy plumage and feathers.
Simonesapien's have fragile skeletons that can easily be broken if struck with enough force.
Etymology: Crocduster's name is a combination of crochet, the art of making fabric via interlocking yarn, and duster (a feather-duster, to be precise).
Trivia: The species name comes from American comic book writer, Gail Simone, who created the DC team known as the Birds of Prey.
The species' home world derives from Marmaduke Tunstall, who was the first to use the Peregrine Falcon name when describing the bird in his 1771 work "Ornithologia Britannica". This is probably because Crocduster is roughly the size of a Peregrine Falcon or a very large chicken.
Simonesapien feathers have been used across the universe as a source for cleaning and as materials for various fabrics.
It is said that the more life essence a Simonesapien absorbs, the softer their feathers become. This has led to some Simonesapiens to take up occupations as executioners in order to then sell their incredibly soft feathers for outrageously high prices; these types of operations are illegal in many star systems but are a favorite among criminal empires, namely the Incurseans.
Ben named Crocduster after Mr. Baumann offhandedly mentioned the numerous purposes of his feathers.
Crocduster's design is based upon that of several Pokemon, namely Fearow, Swellow, and the Altaria line. Other inspirations include the extinct Phorusrhacid - better known as the terror bird - and the Carakiller from The Future is Wild documentary series.
Tunstallia - the Simonesapien home world - is a planet covered in expansive dustbowls and canyons not unlike that of the American West. The rocky terrain is riddled with tiny cracks and crevices through which small prey can easily escape capture and it is for this reason that the Simonesapien have evolved to move at rapid speeds to run and strike down prey before quickly draining it of all energy with their feathers. They do this by hunting in packs and using their brightly-colored head feathers to communicate with one another.
Male Simonesapiens will fight for the affections of a female every year, using their Velociraptor-like toe-claws to duel each other until a victor emerges. The newly appointed mating pair will then use their talons to dig out burrows in the rocky cliff sides of their home world and lay up to a dozen eggs, though only a third usually survive; the newly hatched chicks - which bear a striking resemblance to dodo birds in some regards - will then feast upon the unhatched eggs as their first meal. The parents of these chicks will only stay with one another until the chicks have been properly raised and strike out on their own before going their separate ways.
Despite this, some Simonesapien pairs do mate for life.

Judging from his life-stealing abilities, he reminds me of Impundulu (South Africa's Vampiric Thunderbird) as well Cassowary Bird (I bet those talons aren't for show either)
Seriously, this guy is one hell creepy alien. Especially, if Ben more willing to kill his opponent.

Never heard of it, but after doing some research, the similarities are surprisingly staggering (at least, when it comes to their vampiric qualities).
I personally wouldn't say it's creepy (that might just be because I made the alien, though), since the species only uses this to hunt prey, which are often small creatures that are too fast for them to catch or too small to reach. They aren't, like a race of serial killers or anything - only a handful of individuals do that, and it's usually to those that have it coming.

I see. Then, who would voice this guy?

Not sure. Not really good at the whole voice actor thing. Maybe Gilbert Gottfried?

Probably more like wings, so that he can fly without, you know, magically levitating whatever most of the other flying aliens/ultimate forms seem to get.

I love how much trivia you included for this alien, you really put a lot of thought into it. Awesome!

Your welcome. I just noticed most people took the "croc" part more literally.

That was partially what inspired this alien's appearance. Other inspirations were primarily the Carakillers from The Future is Wild, as well as dodos and terror birds.

He looks even better than I imagined. I must ask though, why is the weaknesses section of the description empty?

Insert "The Power is Yours!" joke here. Also, I made a mistake when it comes to Gail Simone and the Birds of Prey. She didn't create the team, she just took over from previous writer and wrote them in a way that no writer before or after has come close to matching.

When it's said Crocduster, it's either that crocodile from or that it's an crochet-like alien with wind powers (blowing or vacuuming). For absorbing life-essence, that goes for "Parasite".

If you read the trivia/etymology bit, you would understand why he is the way he is. Besides, descriptions were never actually given for the aliens in the first place, we just got their names and most people assumed it would be a crocodile-like alien simply because it has "croc" in the name.

I did but I still feel that absorbing life essence goes to Parasite as crochet dust counts for wind-powered crochet alien.

He doesn't have any wind-based powers, at least not this version of him. Besides, the aliens that step out of the usual norm tend to be the most fun to create (after all, everyone excepts an alien crocodile vacuum cleaner but nobody expects a soul-stealing bird). Besides, this was a request made by a watcher who came up with all the details.
