EnglishDedicated to all people who disable comments on their deviations...anf therefore restrain our freedom of speech.........Nah, just joking
, it is known that a lot of hyena deviants are walking around there, waiting the good occasion to scrap your art and all the stuff, so disabling comments can spare you a lot of inconveniences. 
Maybe I should disable comments on this stamp....

, c'est un secret pour personne que certaines personnes n'attendent qu'une occasion pour venir deverser leur fiel sur vos deviations, desactiver les commentaires vous epargne certainement beaucoup de desagrements. Peut-etre que je devrais moi aussi desactiver les commentaires sur ce stamp.....

sorry but i find that in most cases, deviations which are disabled are the ones that make some kind of strong/polarizing opinion or statement and the person doesn't want to hear anyone oppose their viewpoint...

Maybe people get sick of hearing other opinions with the same fail logic and same arguments others repeat after each other like parrots? Especially if their opinion is unorthodox, then they will surely be outnumbered and chances are low anyone will actually be willing to listen to them. I find that in most cases, people with opposing opinions aren't there to discuss the topic, but to stubbornly try to prove their opinion is the only right one, which inevitably ends in an argument if the person isn't convinced. You're not obliged to listen to someone who isn't willing to listen to you and if disabling comments is a way to avoid an argument, it's better that way.
I have gotten comments and complaints that were just asking for fights over things I thought couldn't possibly offend anyone. Some people are here for art and artistic community, not for whiny textwalls just because they expressed their opinion and someone disagreed with them (and someone will ALWAYS disagree).

Well, actually, I've seen a fair few cases of popular artists disabling comments on older deviations, I would guess because they would rather get comments on their newer works and not get a bunch of comments on older works.
And I would think that in the cases you mentioned, I would think it would be more due to being tired of being flamed/answering the same questions/complaints over and over again, than to not wanting to hear any other veiwpoint. (Though I'm sure that's the case for some, I'm just saying not all, maybe not even most.)

I disable comments on my scrap pieces, since they are largely just previews of the finished work to come. I would rather people look at and focus on the final product than dwell on the precursor to.
