Description A new branch of project for the Geodemons, this time taking ideas from Resident Evil and Prototype. At the moment I have 2 viruses:

Jurrax Virus (Jurassic Virus)
Commonly transforms its host into a Stalker(Ornitholestes), but if the host has the right gene the virus may transform it in a Hunter(Ceratosaurus). RE 'Licker' and 'Tyrant'

Triax Virus (Triassic Virus)
Here shown affecting human beings. Two mutations, depending on host:
- Common uncalled mutation (Coelophysis). The head of the host splits in two vertically into one main mouth, and an extensible stomach with a maw may extend out,
- Certain genes may originate stronger versions (Herrerasaurus)

I used these viruses because I missed some cool dinosaurs, so I tried to add these. Whatcha think?

Daaaaaaamn, these are freaky and awesome at the same time! One thing I might have to ask, though... How the hay can they see anything without any eyes?

Thanks, that was the exact point XD. Some have the eyes of the host, some have awesome sense of smell, some others are sensible to noise..you name it LOL

Well when it's about viruses and nasty creatures there's only one rule "Fuck it up a little" which means go a bit more nuts in the virus, maybe something like dino crisis 3 meets dead space

Crystaldemon93 In reply to Jrontome [2012-03-12 20:58:17 +0000 UTC]

That was the whole point behind these fuckers, and those two were obviously considered, along with Prototype and Resident Evil.

maybe something else you could do is to add textures and some gruesome details that kinds of things stand easily.

I shall, this is just a sketch to show the idea.

approves. LOL

Stalker:
First off, awesome virus names. Anyways, the Stalker's design is a bit bland ATM, but I'm liking where it's heading so far. At the moment, I have no suggestions to make.

Hunter:
Name's a bit too obvious, isn't it? XD Give it a bit more upper body muscle to swing those talons around, and perhaps enlarge the dorsal spikes a bit, and I'd call it perfect.

Triax I:
Those creepy hands are working out very nicely. For the thing's safety, maybe the host's teeth should be pointed outwards once the mutation is complete. Presuming that jagged line on the leg is where the virus' mutation-borne legs burst out from the host's legs, maybe the split should be moved up to the top of the ankle...if the host was human at least.

Triax II:
A bit too macabre for my tastes...no comment.

Now, how far will these mutations progress? I just had a creature idea two nights ago that I thought you may find interesting, and this looks like a good opportunity for me to share it.

LOL I hope so.

Stalker:
Tried keeping some originality XD. It's supposed to rensemble the Licker, specifically 'Licker β', so it has an exposed spinal cord, exposed muscles, long claws and in place of the tongue I put the tail.

Hunter:
I was a bit out of names at the moment XD. Okay then.

Triax I:
You're right about the teeth. Yes it is, I tried giving some distance to show it's elongated to the extreme, but that too could work.

Triax II:
Too macabre? Come on, it's not the Chestburster's big brother, it's just a virus-based Herrerasaurus showing itself!

Depends, they're very versatile, and I thought about making more. Let's hear them out.

LOL we all hope so.

Stalker:
And it worked out beautifully, I must say XD Yes, I'm familiar with it...sort of. What, so no brainface?

Hunter:
Prowler, Slayer, Reaver, Mauler, etc.... XD

Triax I:
LOL Keep that look, I'm just suggesting to move the point-of-bursting further up, that'll make the virus-produced leg look even larger.

Triax II:
...

From what little I know of RE, some of those mutations can be pretty out-there, so the humanoid build is far from the limit. So from there, I thought of this: an overall build similar to the Rachni: [link] , but instead of the Rac's tentacles, they're head-tipped tentacles loosely based on those possessed by Jackie Estacato.

I've also been considering something involving the parasite-induced monsters from "The Cave", but to no avail so far.

Crystaldemon93 In reply to Gilarah93 [2012-03-11 20:52:11 +0000 UTC]

LOL indeed.

Stalker:
Thanks. Just to point it out, and I wanted to keep some distance from Licker, but we could add that as well.

Hunter:
I 'm leaning towards Reaver at the moment XD

Triax I:
Ok then.

Triax II:
LOL

Most animals do not resent of the T-Virus as much as humans, so most creatures are chimaeras. Man, I love the Darkness and those tentacles, and that build is ok, but what dino could possess it and which virus could we form with that?

You too?! Man, can't belive it. I too considered those parasites, but thought I'd save it for pteros, given the flying build.

About RE, these are various viruses, the T being the most common, but there's also the Gene Virus, the Uroboros Virus and the Plagas. And for some ideas, I feel kinda obliged to make a Geodemon with Megalosaurus, and I thought Compsognathus could be used as the parasitic Plagas I told you before.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gilarah93 In reply to Crystaldemon93 [2012-03-11 21:16:46 +0000 UTC]

Stalker:
That distance is fine by me, believe me.

Hunter:
Good, good XD

Well, that's because we're smarter than animals. XD Good to hear there's another TD fan Keeping in theme with these current virus'aurs, I think Gojirasaurus would work as the "ultimate" evolution of Triax I. As for the tentacle-heads, they'd be more or less Triax I heads...or something similar. To propogate itself, this "Gojiravirus" could work like the T4 bacteriophage: [link] there's a GIF animation on that page which demonstrates my point.

Hmmm...you know those Bioraptor-raptors you've been working on? There's our window of opportunity

I know the overall gist of RE's viruses, I just don't look into them. Bah to Megalosaurus, it's a fairly boring theropod as far as anyone can tell. Liliensternus or Monolophosaurus instead, perhaps? Or Becklespinax?

Crystaldemon93 In reply to Gilarah93 [2012-03-11 21:27:48 +0000 UTC]

Stalker:
Ok, then, let's wait for more detailed images for now.

Hunter:
XD

XD The Darkness FTW! Could as well make it that way,as a virus it would keep changing, it wouldn't be unusual for a Triax I to come out this way. I have to admit I didn't really think about the diffusion, for now, but I suppose typical T-Virus way could work.

*Grins* go on..

I didn't know if you did or not. I know, it's just that, being the first discovered dino and all that crap..whatever, I suppose the others could go too, but they need warped, twisted forms.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gilarah93 In reply to Crystaldemon93 [2012-03-11 21:36:39 +0000 UTC]

Stalker:
Indeed.

LOL I love the little goblin sidekick, shame that he dies in TD2. Or, like a Shrieker, if it survived for a certain amount of time (far longer than 24 hours like Shriekers do, of course). Not sure how the T-Virus spreads, nor am I sure I want to know.

Yeah...that was about it, actually. Just some design influences from the bat-things the Cave Parasite makes out of infected humans.

Megalosaurus could work as the ancestral Geodemon or something similar, but it's just too bland IMO to work for these virus creatures. Do what you will, I'm here only to offer suggestions and ideas.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Crystaldemon93 In reply to Gilarah93 [2012-03-11 21:40:58 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, and it's a Darkling. Could work, could work..and trust me, in Gehenna, you're lucky if you survive longer than 10 minutes XD. The T-Virus in pure form can be contracted like other viruses by air, water, and such, or by bite/scratch from infected ones.

I'll see, I'll see.

So, Echidna? She's the mother of them all. However, I'll see to post new sketches soo.

Maaayyybe, though one of her brood could be the Megalosaurus-ancestor instead. And I shall be waiting on that.

Interesting, though using Compsognathus is too simple IMO...though I don't have any alternatives to offer at this point, so I'll pipe down and roll with it. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Crystaldemon93 In reply to Gilarah93 [2012-03-17 17:40:30 +0000 UTC]

Well...there could be Eoraptor, who's considered the ancestor of dinosaurs by some, so it could turn its host into a wide variety of dino-hybrids.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gilarah93 In reply to Crystaldemon93 [2012-03-18 05:06:41 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm...true, Eoraptor might work out better. I'd say roll with Eo' instead of Compy'.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Crystaldemon93 In reply to Gilarah93 [2012-03-18 16:37:05 +0000 UTC]

I will. Another thing, about the Destroyers, what about we keep the 'wing-arm' concept, but, instead of a single schyte, we make something like this [link] [link] (I'm talking about the biggest pair of arms)not so muscular of course, but it would differentiate them from the Nids more, and a single claw is kind of weak-looking for creatures powerful as they are supposed to be.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gilarah93 In reply to Crystaldemon93 [2012-03-18 20:28:41 +0000 UTC]

That thing is freaky-looking...anyways, no shoulder-eyes, and I'm all for it. . Also, they could easily be reverted into more arm-like appendages for the flightless varieties like the Ruiner (the heavy-hitter I designed).

BTW, that's William Birkin from Resident Evil and the effects of the G-Virus, of whom i'd like to make a tribute. he's a pure one, meaning his body accepted the virus, if the body does not accept the firus, this thing chestburst out of 'em in minutes [link]
