Here we have someone just as hardware crazy as I am!

Not a bad setup, though I dont really like that case. Just as big as a mATX, but only takes mITX motherboards. Im afraid SilverStone holds the throne in both categories with their Sugo SG08 for mITX and Temjin TJ08B-E for the mATX. ... Yes. I love Silverstone for those two! Just a shame they dont have anything attractive for miditowers...

now to make you just as linux crazy as I am

thanks, and I get that a lot lol. and Silverstone is nice, but I'm currently thinking about going Corsair 800D for my next machine... because dayum.... I just love that case for some reason.... lol

I have tried, and still am, trying Ubuntu, but I cant really get my head around it. I love hardware, I enjoy gaming and such, but I absolutely hate fiddling with most software... Even installing a program is a pain there, if you ask me. But I do always cheer for Linux, now that Microsoft lost their heads completely, as well as the fact they hand out all sorts of information to the american NSA...

800D eh? Not a small case indeed. Too big, and expensive for my own taste, but it has quality. Im doing fine for now with my Fractal Design Arc!

Keep trying it! that's how I got familiar with linux

and I get that too, but it's a big mid tower imo... lol
and hey at least it's cheaper than the new 900D which I think is.... ew in comparison.
so what are the specs of your machine then? you make me curious xP

I will do in time. As it is now though, I dont have any real reason to use Ubuntu over Windows 7. Im just really fond of the Windows XP-design and 7 style of things.

My main desktop sits in an F-D Arc, a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 motherboard and a Phenom II x6 1100T CPU cooled by a Corsair H60, 8 GB of Corsair 1600 MHz RAM, a stock Asus Radeon HD7970 GPU with an Arctic Accelero aircooler (That thing is silent!), a Seagate 7200RPM 1 TB storage drive and an Intel 320 120GB C: drive, some Gentle Typhoon 1450 RPM fans... Anything else?

Well, I have a main laptop as well, an Asus G53 (This is where I have Ubuntu as well as Windows 7). Not bad for a laptop, but quite the lagmachine compared to desktops. But then again, when Im out travelling Im not doing it just to play games all day, eh?

Then I have my old laptop, some Acer eMachines, not a lot of power in that thing, but it works. For now its kind of just gathering dust though... And then I have some old AM2-socket computer with some old spare parts, not too much of a use for it due to the size though.

Oh and, something more interesting I have is an old Macintosh IIvx from 1992. Used to be my grandmothers, but it suddenly stopped working. Planning to revive it when I figure out what the problem might be, plenty of old fun games on that thing! I suspect its the PSU or the CMOS battery thats being the derp here.

But as for a 'next machine', I tend to upgrade mine slowly. My desktop is in need of a reinstallation I believe, but Im not sure yet if to buy a 250 GB SSD while Im at it, or stick to the 120GB one I already own. Maybe a soundcard too in the future...

Ah... you should try ubuntu on the desktop then... I find it a wee-bit easier to work with linux on a desktop

and all the old hardware!

and that works, I usually like to make a new machine every year or two or so personally

Well, I practically use my laptop as a desktop... Its one of those big ones, 1080p and 15" monitor, using mouse and all. It more comes down to the UI.

I do love building machines, but that would get crazy expensive if I would do that, since I prefer high end hardware and switching slowly overtime. I mean, my old Phenom II is from 2009, and its still holding strong. And I dont play any of these 'AAA' titles anymore, so I dont need to always upgrade for things like Battlefield or Crysis. I dont think I need any new hardware until atleast DDR4 in 2015.

They are, the biggest complaint for some is the fact that it's really large for an m-itx tower, but I just figure they haven't seen a full tower so...

Well my next case is going to be a scratch build but I really want to mod an orange Prodigy sadly no money tho and by the time I have enough something new will be out that replaces it.
