in the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the national currency is bits. bits are gold (i'm pretty sure).i wanted to see just how much gold was in 1 bit, and how much it would be worth in our universe.
i hope nopony else has done this before...
i'm pretty sure i got the math right, i had to get creative with it, i looked online and i couldn't find a formula to calculate the height of a picture of a cylinder set at and angle leaning towards you, so i had to make one up.
the formula worked in real life so i figured it would work in this too.
anyway, hope you find it... informational.

I want to go to Equestria now and take as many bits as I can back to this world and melt all the gold into as many bricks as I can and build a gold house like in Minecraft <3

that would be pretty awesome! building a house would be the safe way to go; but whatever you do, do NOT sell the blocks! Hypothetically speaking... if even one Minecraft scale size block of gold found its way into the economy, the market for gold would be plunged into chaos. suddenly there would be a literally TONS of new gold in the market (roughly 20 tons depending on what measurement system you use). the law of supply and demand states that the more of something there is to go around the less expensive it will become. if gold, suddenly and without warning, were to become significantly cheaper, millions upon millions of people around the world (that have lots of gold stashed away because they believe its a safe form of currency) will suddenly become poor. mass chaos would ensue, something the likes of which no human has ever seen. rioting in the streets! forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes, The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! but you know that's just hypothetical thinking.

omg I'm not so sure about how that worked or if that bit is real gold, but this is amazing! I mean I just paid for one pecan pie for only 10 bucks

lol, i know! i don't know what came over me that day, i guess i just decided i wanted to know.
of course in their world, gold is most certainly NOT worth that much, this calculation is based on how rare and expensive the gold in OUR world is.
based upon the fact that diamonds and other gem stones can be found mere inches below the surface of the ground in Equestria. its reasonable to assume precious metals should be equally common.
based on how much you said you paid for that pie, i'd say the value of gold in their world is roughly twice the value of nickel (the metal) in our world, which isn't much.
at about $2.61(£1.66) a bit, your pie would have been 4 bits in Equestria.

HOLY LOL! This is needless, but AWESOME. Thanks for the info! Don' tell Equestria how overly-inflated their prices are by Earth-standards...then again, bits are easier to come by in Equestria, so they'd be worth a lot in the human world.
