So here we are my first bit of fan art for 2015. I just did this on a whim this past weekend which was a nice and relaxing one. For a little while now I've had this idea in the back of my head to do something with Black Spider I like his character I think he deserves a bit more notoriety. thanks for the words of praise. yeah i like the movie too even though it was heavily based on the Nu52 version of The Squad. in general i don't like the DC reboot but i have to hand it to DC for still making quality animated features not to mention for how awesome Young Justice was while it was still on the air.

yeah i'm looking forward to that one too. but in regards to what makes many DC animated features great is not just good animation but also good writing. you can actually enjoy their stuff as an adult unlike Marvel that obviously gears their animation features to a early and pre-teen crowd.

very good realistic battle pose with realistic proportions.Β Black Spider is a realistic villain so there was no need for exxagerated muscles and everything. good effort with the shadows and different tones. KeepΒ΄em coming, youΒ΄re improving at a good rate.

"realistic proportions" is one of the key details i pay close attention to when it comes to figure composition. a lot ofΒ amateurΒ artists struggle with that. thanks for swinging by the ROM blog that was some nice news although it's ultimately still not the news ROM fans have been waiting for.

if anyone's Batman i would say. he first appeared in Detective Comics 463 back in the mid 70s although up until the DC reboot we didn't see a whole lot of him. but as far as i know whenever he did appear in the old DCU he was usually at odds with Batman.

well it's not called the Suicide Squad for nothing. for me the most unfortunate death was Black Spider because he was a vigilante who took out mobsters, drug dealers and other sorts of murderers as seen in the Squad intro. much like The Punisher from Marvel. from a moral stand point he didn't deserve to die unlike King Shark and Killer Frost who were cold blooded murderers (entertaining characters as they were). but at least they died on the mission KGBeast got his head blown off during the mission briefing.Β

it's a nice thought but DC would just fuck that up too. right after i dropped the Nu52 Suicide Squad series (issue ten almost 3 years ago) Black Spider turned out to be a traitor and sold out the Squad to some stupid Serpentor from G.I. Joe rip off cult leader. the last time we saw him he was a prisoner again in Belle Reve ranting to Waller about the danger of super powered beings. a totally stupid character plot twist he was one of the few things that title had going for it. i think you'll like this blog posting about him a did back when i still felt a bit optimistic about the Nu52 Squad titleΒ suicidesquadtaskforcex.blogspoβ¦

yeah the writing on that title and the Nu52 just plain sucks on so many levels i won't give DC a single cent when it comes to their comics. just their animated movies are the only thing worth (most of the time) my time and money.

I agree, of all the villains from Assault on Arkham. Black Spider seemed to be the only one to actually put up a real fight with Batman. 
Plus, we don't see a lot of "Anti-Batman" villains anymore.
