Knowing the power of the internet, this show will not be the last of its kind. Once it's over, and the fandom moves on completely, something new and weird will likely pop up to keep the amount of diversity in society on level. Otherwise, the universe would explode, amirite?

I was born to late for star trek... except netflix... none of my friends care for it, and nobody understands my halloween costumes. Sad how forgotten it is. Perhaps the same will happen with mlp...

I have always wondered what it'll be like, years down the road. i've often wondered if there was any reason for obtaining any merch or swag or anything else related to this fandom.Β

time will always move forward and will never stop. Interests come and go, memories fade, nothing is permanent. Unless you make it.

I will always try to be apart of this fandom, as my wife never let go of Sailor Moon. Even if it doesn't mean anything to anyone else, it'll mean something to me. and in reality, that's what's permanent, the things that are important to you.

Yeah, i don't think that there's gonna be that many bronies left after the show has stopped for 5 years, only a much smaller community thriving on fan-fics and shit most never cared for in the first place.

I have the same right now, i don't care for fan-fics or shipping, mainly because fan interaction like that can get really creepy.

I liked the show because it made me laugh quite a bit more then the average shit Comedy Central is throwing out.

ShadowSketch91 In reply to Cuddlepug [2014-09-21 14:53:34 +0000 UTC]

you'd be surprise how long small fan-bases can thrive on their own fantasy regarding a show like this.
It's mainly to do with the fact such people are often cut off from society.

Then again, i was talking about a case five years after the end of the show.

i don't know really but i'm under the impression it's safe to assume this much, as a lot of bronies also happen to be insecure, this coming from personal experience talking on forums with other bronies.

i'd say try doing something extreme with which you might face death yourself, i've had that a couple of times and right now, i don't care for it, death is coming for us all, so instead of worrying accept it for what it is, the inevitable.

Although my mindset seems to be completely out of tune with modern thinking so maybe don't do what i jsut said xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pony-Workshop In reply to Cuddlepug [2014-09-21 15:31:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, Β their devotion. Will there be many bronies who will continue to love these colorful horses after their time has died out, and they stop airing the show? I mean, it will have to end. I think I might end up being one of those people, because MLP:FiM has affected my life greatly, but what about others? It's a huge fandom, but just how devoted are we? Will we tell stories about the ponies to our grandchildren, while others shake their heads and walk away? Or will we keep these things inside of us and push them down, for fear of being thought of as crazy? While many of use are still young, we don't care. But when we get older, many people may think it is "wrong", so will we just forget about it altogether? I hope that many bronies will continue to hold the memories of this magic with them, and share it. But, I do wonder just how many will.

I know this question was not intended for me but i feel like i can shed some light on your question. Honestly this same question has popped up from time to time into my head would it be weird to be still enjoying something that i enjoyed as a young adult or a kid when i become older? No because like our good old friend Walt once saidΒ You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway. Because MLP is a cartoon and i don't believe it would be wrong to enjoy it when were older. Then i remember you mentioning of showing or telling our grand-kids about MLP i like to mention two shows that survived because of exactly that Star Trek The original series and Doctor Who also When i was growing up my father showed me tapes of the old He-Man show that he recorded when he was a kid. And if we go back to Star Trek for a bit to this day More then forty years since its airing there are people still writing fan-fiction and debating about the original series so no i don't think it would be weird to still enjoy the show after its time has passed and fifth generation MLP springs up.

Hmm... Interesting. I think I might do a little something on this and ask bronies what they think will happen within their lifespan, and throughout MLP.
