Description

During the past year, I have come to learn of things that got revealed about The Mr. Men Show over half a decade after it ceased production. These include an interview with Mark Risley by someone with someone I knew from uploading US Version of Mr. Men Show episodes that weren't up on YouTube, in addition to doing a Two Narrators things with the Classic Series of Thomas and Friends to the point of me for 4 years watching the US Version of the show on YouTube and starting to know the show better (I even did 4 of my own Two Narrators videos):

Stuff in those interviews revealed the real reasons as to why Miss Calamity was removed in Season 2 (apparently she was disliked by Chorion), the real reason Mr. Persnickety was renamed back to Mr. Fussy (Chorion disliked the renaming, though to be fair not many people know what Persnickety means), the reason Mr. Funny doesn't speak (Kate Boutilier didn't want him to clash with Mr. Scatterbrain), the fact that Miss Fun was never meant to be used, the fact that Risley believes that Mr. Bump and Miss Whoops are indeed siblings, and what Miss Calamity and Miss Daredevil had been inspired from. There's also this that apparently none of us knew about until the mid or late 2010s:

Stuff talked about includes an explanation for redesigning the characters, the fact that Mr. Fussy was at first renamed Mr. Persnickety to sound more alliterative, the fact that Mr. Scatterbrain and Mr. Stubborn were created so that female characters could remain mostly positive, and that Cartoon Network asked for the series to be Boy Centric (which explains why there's more Mr. Men then Little Misses, though Season 2 did actually introduce more Little Misses then Mr. Men). One thing revealing behind the scenes stuff about the show that I haven't found a source on yet is about Mr. Strong, Mr. Fussy and Mr. Scatterbrain being modeled after Sylvester Stallone, Frank Nelson and Ed Wynn respectively, as explained by the impressions, same said with where Mark Risley confirmed that being a vegetarian is why meat was rarely featured in the show and replaced by stuff like Beanburgers, Beanloaf and Beanballs.

Whilst I appreciated what we were able to learn about, there are some mysteries that we still don't know about that I hope we can learn about someday. Based on what Mark Risley was like in the interviews with Percyandduckfan94, it's best that we don't contact him about it, and I respect PandDFan's desire with being finished with this kind of stuff, along with how he found it best to not share his own fanmade redesigns. There are others we can find out about these things from however such as with others who worked on the show, in addition to some of the cast members, though with anything to do with the UK Version, we'd have to turn to someone that was responsible for UK Distribution:

*Traits of certain characters such as with their accents and personalities and catchphrases. Fortunately there are some impressions and accent origins that we already know about thanks to something explained above, Godfrey Danchimah even confirmed in an Instagram Livestream at one point that it was all his idea for Mr. Stubborn to be calling stuff Cheap.

*Reasons why something was done for certain characters, for instance with what Mr. Rude does that gets others to shout out his name, and as to the pairings of certain characters like notably Mr. Nosy and Mr. Small.

*The faces of characters in the intro not seen in the show itself (they're believed to be Mr. Muddle, Mr. Daydream and Miss Lucky). Could it be for the same reason as Miss Fun?

*What in show programs such as Good Morning Dillydale and Shazam That's Good were based off, along with why the former was only featured twice in season 2.

*Why Mr. Jelly was renamed Mr. Nervous, which I more prefer. We already know that Mr. Fussy was renamed Mr. Persnickety in the first season to sound more alliterative, but as for the other character that was renamed, possible reasons are since he was no longer of a jelly-like shape, or to be more fitting with his always terrified personality.

*Why Mr. Tall and Miss Curious only spoke once.

*Why those two characters along with Mr. Funny and Miss Bossy were excluded from things like the intro and the official website.

*Why Mr. Nervous stopped having imaginary adventures in season 2, aside from in Toys.

*Why Mr. Rude's farts that were the Short Bulb Horn Honk sound effect in season 1 became more realistic in season 2. The Mr. Men Show as we know was meant for all ages, though it has aired on early childhood networks, and lots of family friendly media has had realistic fart sounds. Another thing worth answering is as to why the Angry Heads were done away with in favour of a character in a random location.

*Stuff about certain episodes, such as with why Boo Boos only had 2 bumpers.

*The change of format with season 2 where all episodes would be consistent by always have the same number of plots and bumpers (the 2nd of which is always something that would always deleted in the UK), in addition to only featuring dance videos and scene transitions themed around the episodes (and discarding those silent music videos).

*What the non-existing creatures such as the Dragon Fish, Fangosaurus, Dillydale Giant Owl, Spotted Honking Turtle and Tiny Orange Speckled Tree Frog are meant to be based off.

*Why each episode always cuts out one scene in the UK Version (sometimes even a bumper), along with how it's usually decided which scene gets cut. Possible reasons for some of them include their nature, others might be due to having an American Theme.

*Why Mr. Fussy's catchphrase "Sweet Henrietta" was changed to "Sweet Apple Strudel".

*Why "Patooie" is rarely mentioned in the UK Version. One possible reason is because of it's definition: www.lexico.com/definition/pato…

*Why Mr. Rude and Mr. Scatterbrain's voices were left unchanged in the UK Version. Whilst it's believed that this may be due to Mr. Rude being a French Stereotype (no offense) and Mr. Scatterbrain's Ed Wynn personality, it would be best if we had an official explanation by someone responsible for UK distribution or even Joey D'Auria himself.

*Why Jo Wyatt left the UK Cast in Season 2.

*Why Simon Greenall passed Mr. Happy onto Rob Rackstraw in the UK Version. At times I think it could be due to Greenall having voiced 6 characters already, but perhaps we should see what one of the two has to say.

If there's any other mysteries about The Mr. Men Show that anyone would like to learn about someday, feel free to mention them in the comments.
