I remember this girl when she was 15. Still very hot. But ... damn has she blown-the-f-up.I remember her publicist trying to tell me how big she'd be. I hear that a lot.
But ... he was right.
This was a b/w convert from a Canon 1D file. i know it was f2.8, 800 iso ... probably 200/250th of a second.

ha, i don't even know who Mischa is... i really don't. but that's a nice capture. even though the banding noise of the 1D is evident. i bet it looks much worse in colour.

It's her hair. And her face of course, so unique.
And she's seems pretty down-to-earth, which shouldn't really matter to me, but in a sense it makes me find anything she is in, or any other "decent" celebrity for that matter, more watchable.

we see photos of her all the time now.. see her on tv and in magazines. this photo is striking and special because she has a vulnerable and hungry look in her face.. that and it is sweet. is it challenging to shoot these people who have this residue of celebrity all over them? does that make it harder to get a fresh shot?

that's the way it happens sometimes.
i think the hungry look you see is actually insecurity. she -- like many girls -- seems insecure when she doesn't have a boyfriend.
yes, sometimes, it is difficult to shoot these people in a fresh way.
it's a very odd life.
very hard to achieve balance.
very hard to maintain a "personal life."
then again, i don't know a whole lot of photographers in either l.a. or n.y.c. that are successfully married.

Mischa Barton is gorgeous. I remember her in her Disney Dolphin movies. I was probably 9 when that one came out, but she still oddly caught my eye when I was watching my everyday-afterschool disney stuff and she was in the water chillin' with those dolphins. She wasn't as tall back then O_o;

I really love your shooting style, seeing you shoot at the maximum most of the time, or atleast the work you post here, and I love it, just picking out the most sensual features here, and that backround is just hot, really really good stuff, I have had the 2.8L lens for about a month now, and trying to work it, I think its my new favorite glass, and I shoot landscape
The black and white is really good too, I have never shot digital black and white, do you ever shoot with intentions of different high content grain, or is that totally taboo in the commerical business?
I don't know who she is, im really out of the loop on movies and stars and such, but she is gorgeous, and you sure know how to capture that.
