Unfortunately the wall of the house is the best place to find moths. Most of my moth pics are in the same area that I take pictures of my spiders, so you can see dirty webs and the wall of the house. Β It is still a great shot though!!!

Yeah, moths like walls near the porch light in the evening too

Thanks for the comment

If you have a really wide open area, hang up a white sheet and place a black light under it. That will call moths from a long way away, turn off the light and they will leave. That is my next project, we have six acres of pasture surrounded by woods. I am hoping to drawn something spectacular out.

I have seen some white sheet demonstrations at our local botanical garden, and I have definitely thought about it.Β  The biologist directing it said that particular wavelength bulbs (that are hard to find) work much better, so I haven't put a setup together yet.Β  Let me know how yours works out!

This was outside if that wasn't clear

I would have agreed in the past, but I love bugs now after photographing them so much that I would be excited to see almost any one in my house

(not roaches, termites, ants, wool-eating moths, bees/wasps, etc though )
