That quote is so true. He's basically saying that it doesn't matter how you came to exist in this world. It's what what you do with your life afterwards that determines what kind of person you'll be in life. It applies to Mewtwo a lot because he went from being someone that wanted to destroy the world to someone who'd rather keep it alive.
