Hello! I'm trying to use this on my page, however the "play" button disappears.
I've learnt that you can substitute the default play button icon with another, but even without clicking it, the image disappears. The audio still works, but the image no longer displays.
Is there a fix for this?

I am trying to use the small box, but the play/pause button isn't visible.
Once you click and the music starts to play, the pause button shows when you hover.
Is there no way for the play button to be visible at all times?

its because the youtube player's design has changed, wich means this changed too.
there needs to be a new version of this made in some way to fix it :/

HELLO! Everyone looking to fix the smallest player for html 5 should know that the fix is SIMPLE!

THAT'S RIGHT! All you need to do on the small player is adjust the width and height! These aren't exact measurements, but I played with it for a few minutes and these are rather close, if you ask me. The updated measurements look to have centered the play button rather well with the youtube update.
On a related note, if anyone figures out how to use the autoplay feature, that would be excellent. The usual HTML embedding does not work with DeviantArt, and if anyone finds a workaround or something, please let me know!

What about when submitting literature pieces? I've tried using that method and all I get is this:

for the id, you don't use the whole link. you only use the part after v=, so in this case, the id="yNT5T7n_wEI"

That's probaly because of the new youtube update, there is no way around this but the good thing is that it still works, just click on it and you'll see

you can change the width and height to make it look big or small : D like this
Please note that when you use this, it will try to show the video in the box you make, and the whole video, including the new window button, play button, etc. at the bottom of the page may get in your way!

What is the src code your supposed to put in? I'm confused about that

The SRC code? You don't alter that (At least if you don't know what you're doing with the layout) since src is an image code just to get the look of the youtube bar out I believe. You leave the Src code as it is, however the Youtube video ID portion is requestion everything the url of a video after the = sign
