A pic I did for NinjaJack, one of the moderators for www.henshinjustice.com His blog is located here [link]NJ apporoached me and asked if I would like to be the new chief artist for Henshin Justice, but the powers that be just didn't take to my style or something..
Oh well, anyways, i agreed to draw NJ's characters for him, I'll post those pics a little later tho
Here was his first request: A pic of Sailor Mercury as a Red Mighty Morphin Ranger
I kinda rushed the coloring a bit (it shows here and there on the lighting) and I REALLY don't like the the crappy job I did on the Power Coins lighting, but other than that, it turned out ok....
NJ liked it anywho ^__^

Agreed, blue would have been more appropriate, but it was a request for a buddy and I didn't mind doing it.

Absolutely incredible, considering that in the 30+ year history of the Toei Super Sentai series (from which the Power Rangers franchise evolved) there had NEVER been a female Red Ranger in ANY of the Sentai groups.

There was Princess Shinken Red (I think that's her name) from Shinkenger, as well as the gender-bender versions of red rangers in Gokaiger

Since I kind of lost interest in the newer shows after 2001's Hyakuu Juu Sentai Gaoranger, I guess I wasn't aware of that little factoid. My bad.

this and some pics of characters are all NJ asked for..... I kinda had Ami pegged as the blue ranger, tho this did turn out pretty cool.
awork got in the way of me doing the other scouts.... and my new job's no different than the old one was, cept for more hours and pay....
I've thought about doing the other scouts, but bleah, too tired now, most of the time
I wonder if this is the real reason so many ppl quit drawing

I still like to draw and try to draw but it takes longer to do a pic since I got a full time job.

I really like this. I remember seeing a bunch of "Extreme" Sailor moon pics a long time ago (basically the girls were more bad ass in general)
and this reminds me alot of that.

Never pegged Ami as the leader/red ranger. XD Nice, none the less. I like how you exicuted the profile on the left; very nice.
The right hand, however, seems to look a tad bit small. It might just be me though.

Me either, but thats what NJ wanted, and I figured why not try it
I added the profile cause profiles are pretty easy, plus drawing them big means more details *__* haha, I got unbelievably lucky with the profile tho: I found a decent sized pic of the helmet on a costume store website, they had an unpainted mold of it, made a GREAT reference pic
*blinks* do you mean Ami's right or our right? the fist looks big enough, but the hand at her waist just looks all wrong to me, the whole arm gaurd thingy there does in fact T_T
oh well, I surprised myself the most with the profile...... say, can you see the BIG color mistake I edited out? I'd like to know if my little editing technique works as well as I think it does....

i think maybe a colour you haven't already used, you could do firely but make sure it's no where close to the red's your already using otherwise the subject will be lost in the bg, the idea of the bg is to help bring her out a bit better. but it could defintly work if you careful with tones ~_^
