but the icky lineart needs to be smoother (and won't mention the lack of a background again)

you totally should have seen this without lineart, before I flattened it, looked just like a painting it did ahh so colorful

well bubba as for background i believe one has to first get to grips on making one's colouring good before worrying about background colouring (i feel really dizzy you know XD my head swoons alot right now so if i make no sene you kno why) so dont worry about that yet sweepea *falls on you*
my cg skill suck, ive been practising aggeeesss and still only have basic handling of colouring. chuu misses bubba is bubba online yet?
