(ClipStudio and DA don't seem to get along too well so let's see how bad it butchers this one =w=; )
I've decided on a little schedule. two requests, then, if I have a headcanon, I put it down, because I seem to have too many of them
yes, ye olde Twicord otp is resurfacing
(and yes, Discord's wing is on the wrong side, shut up I like drawing his feathered one better)
this time I felt like redesigning Twilight, not because I hate her original design, but because she felt so...pink
don't get me wrong, I have nothing wrong with the color pink. pink is one of my favorite colors. but drawing so much pink and purple together just...did not sit well with me. so I made her much darker.
I love all the purples together, gives her a galaxy vibe (she is the stars to Celestia's sun and Luna's moon, so giving her lots of starry striations seemed suitable). I'm not sure about the mane tho. I had to rework it a lot because the blonde and pink and purple just did not match with the darker fade I'd given her. I'm still not happy with it, and probably would have brought that darker color further up. I do love those golden wings tho, love those.
and Discord, man is he fun to draw. I finally relented and gave him a longer, fuller mane, gave him some gray streaks because this boiyo is old and he owns itttt. also, stars and sparkles, because you bet he takes care of his mane. oh yeah, he is into that hair care babyyyy. he's a narcissistic bastard, of course he's gonna put hours into his personal appearance, I mean, come onnn XD also finally displayed one of the older chaotic personal traits I gave him, in that his iris shape changes color depending on his emotions. he's got a smiley face
anyway, I do have headcanons about alicorns and draconequui alike, so buckle up, this might be a long ride (and a little more depth to their relationship with each other, so ;D)

Draconequui are an ancient species, easily the oldest in the world. Paintings, drawings, statues, and other physical depictions of them can be found in many ancient ruins and fallen societies, and they have been described in ancient texts dating back millions of years. Even in the eldest of days, they were never very plentiful; what little evidence has been found of their ancient communities doesn't seem to indicate large numbers, and even the crumbling ruins of their ancient cities are tiny in comparison to the massive empires other species erected in their heydays. However, they made up for their lack in population with their incredible magical prowess. Ancient fables of nearly every species consist of ancient draconequui building the world with their delicate fingers and powerful magic. It is believed that they maintained the world when alicorns were not present to do it for them. They are thought to have created all types of magic, Dark, Light, Chaotic, and everything in between, and may have even actually created the world, and everything around it. Maybe those stories aren't so much fables as they are realistic stories passed down through generations.
Why or how such a powerful and prevalent species died out so easily, however, remains a mystery. Draconequui were easily the most powerful, dangerous creatures in the world, perhaps in the universe during their dog days. Many ancient civilizations worshipped and hailed them as gods, making it very unlikely that they were hunted and slaughtered by another species. They were the alpha predator. So how did they die out so quickly?
Well, don't ask Discord, because he wouldn't know.
Despite being absolutely ancient by modern standards, he is the last generation of the ancient species. Being the representation of chaos (as Twilight represents harmony), he has an immortal lifespan, and outlived the last vestiges of his peers. Essentially, he doesn't know shit about his people, what happened to them, or what they were like in general. Really the only other draconequus he ever met was Cosmos, and she was an alicorn like he was (representation of wrath). Look at how that turned out. Frankly, he doesn't even want to know what his people were like, and he doesn't care either. He just wants to live out his life as himself and not care about the extinct race he came from.
However, he has been the cause of several draconequus subspecies.
Chaotic magic is incredibly difficult to wield, mostly because of how..well...chaotic it is. But, as the representation and essentially the living embodiment of chaos, Discord has no problem with it. He is chaos. It is infused into the fibers of his soul. We've seen what removing it does to him; he starts fading (AKA dying). So obviously, he is very, ridiculously chaotic. So chaotic, in fact, that his body leaks chaos like radiation.
Literally.
It isn't often observed because of how frequently Discord moves and bounces around the world. But when an object or group of objects, ordinarily organic, are exposed to Discord for too long, he can morph them. Not even on purpose. His magic literally works like radiation, in that he has no control over what he affects and how. This includes objects that he uses his magic on, though the effect is more concentrated, which causes more drastic effects more quickly. If he levitates an apple for too long, perhaps an hour or so, that apple will begin to shift and morph in amazing and horrifying ways. It'll change color, change genetic structure, change species, and even multiply, like, cell-splitting style. And he doesn't even have to do it on purpose. The objects may transform back to their original state after being released, but it takes a lot longer. And he can reverse the effects of his 'chaotic radiation' to an extent.
So, going back to the subspecies thing.
Manticores are a small subspecies of Draconequui.
Think about it. Both Discord and Manticores can easily fall into the Chimera category. And Manticores don't just come out of nowhere. No animal comes out of nowhere, especially out of the Everfree Forest, home to some of the most natural, chaotic magic in the world. This forest...makes things. Not good things. So how is the Manticore a draconequus subspecies?
Because draconequui, in a sense, made them.
The Everfree Forest is seldom studied. But its effect on common Harmonic/Light magic is very well known. Not a lot of magic works effectively in the Everfree forest. Not Harmonic, and not Dark. The best type of magic that can be used in the Everfree is the one most commonly found there: Chaotic. The forest reeks of chaos. The place seems to have a thick, radioactive fog of chaos magic all around it. Why? Well, because Chaos magic was used there rather often. Cosmos didn't transform the Everfree from a garden into a forest, but she did practice and experiment with Chaotic magic in the Everfree, so much so that the forest itself infused with and began to replicate Chaotic energy that synergized with Chaotic magic. Essentially, the forest literally stinks of Chaos. And, as was discussed earlier, Chaotic magic is like radiation to organic objects. Having suffered the effects of Chaotic magic for thousands of years, the Everfree is so greatly affected by it that it is far past the point of no return, and is often considered unsafe because of the crazy things that radiation creates. Thus, its crazy creatures were born; Manticores, Cockatrices, Timberwolves. One of the best examples of Chaos Radiation, as the effect is called, is Poison Joke. Once recorded to be a gorgeous, rare blue flower, Poison Joke has been so affected by Chaos Radiation that it inflicts acts of chaos upon others that come into contact with it, as was evident with the Mane Six (Discord had a field day when he heard about that, and has since snuck Poison Joke into every bouquet ever).

moving on to Twilight!
Twilight Sparkle is the Stars in the Sun, Moon, and Star trio. Celestia mainly had her ascend not only as a successor, but to complete this trio and rule in her stead. Though Twilight now has her ability to help a unicorn ascend, she isn't nearly old enough to have planned her retirement, and she already has children that she can pass her throne onto.
Twilight, like her predecessors, the Two Sisters, has an affinity for the celestial bodies in the sky. She doesn't directly control her celestial bodies (the stars) like they do, but she does derive her power majorly from them. Celestia's magic is strongest during the day. Luna's magic is strongest during the night. Twilight's power falls in between, as twilight does between day and night. However, her power is more aimed towards the night sky rather than the day. Her dark coloring, star-related magic, all of it is more nighttime-oriented.
Twilight's colors are rather striking, most notably her wings. Her wings are crystallized, like Cadence's or Sombra's, but rather a metallic gold color. But it is unknown why this is; neither Celestia or Luna have metallic wings like hers (their wings do have sheens, but they aren't as strong or bold as Twilight's). Her colorations grew darker, and she grew stars in her mane. Even her eyes changed from pink to gold. She has a striking silhouette compared to the few other alicorns in the world.
Alicorn...anything takes time getting used to. Alicorn wings are strong and infused with magic, and alicorn magic is incredibly powerful compared to normal magic. Celestia began a long-abandoned (until Twilight came around) program for future alicorns training them how to handle their new selves. Celestia, Luna, and Cadence coached Twilight on how to handle her magic and her wings (though most of her flight training was handled by Rainbow Dash). Twilight doesn't use her wings very much, though, because she isn't very good at flying and hardly flies anyway. She does fly around a bit as exercise, though, and is always astounded by the incredible views one can see in the sky.

The two of them are a very odd couple, and a bit unseemly, tho very loving. Discord loves his lanky awkward wife, and Twilight loves her tol, unique oddity of a husbando.
a few points about them as a couple:
- Discord and Twilight often argue playfully, and love talking to each other. they enjoy late night drinking convos where both of them are drunk off their asses and being all philosophical. stop, your kids are disgusted
- their household (castlehold???) is a mess of constant chaotic family pranks. you can always tell who pranked who because Twilight does not do creative tricks. Discord is always giving her tips. she's getting better
- Discord is very plastic when it comes to behavior. he loves her quiet personality, and is often quiet when she speaks, because he mocks her unconsciously. she calls him 'mockingbird' sometimes because of it
- there's lots of singing in their house. Twilight loves singing with her kids, and they make a cute choir. Discord would join in, but...he isn't the best singer. but Twilight loves him for trying (and he does try XD)
- noodle husband is very strict on self-care. who is his victim? Twilight. she stays up all night perusing articles and making lists and reading books and studying and ruling her kingdom and Discord is not happy with it.
- S N U G G L I N G (the kids aren't happy)
- Twilight is very fascinated with Discord's 'hands' (a paw and a hawk-hand, really). she's always asking how they work and how it feels controlling separate digits, because she has, ya know, one.
