Description
One of the first ships to be equipped with the new Spiral Induction Cores (www.deviantart.com/d4j4b0/art/… ), these ships were specifically given the task of reaching the Delta quadrant, to try and make contact with the various friendly races encountered by the USS Voyager. One such ship was tasked with establishing contact with the Talaxian colony where Neelix had stayed, acting as liaison with them as well as providing support.

Designed primarily as an exploration vessel, they have dedicated port and starboard sensor labs on the saucer section. It also comes with a hazardous operations auxiliary vessel docked to the underside of the saucer called the 'Gondola'. As well as an auxiliary arch capable of supporting a variety of mission pods. As standard it has 8 phaser arrays (with 2 extra for saucer separation) and 3 torpedo/probe launchers (2 fore, 1 aft) on the drive section.

Since Voyager reported a number of hostile and less than friendly races the decision was made to give these ships the latest tactical pod design on their auxiliary arch. The tactical pod design has 4 torpedo launchers (2 fore, 2 aft) and 4 phaser arrays configured for point defence by default, or can be set to standard targeting.
