Description
I based this design on the B-wing from Star Wars. I wanted to see if I could make it work and make it make sense as a Star Trek ship. This is what I came up with:

Tachi Class: Long range interception and pursuit ship. At only 66.5m long, but 140.5m tall this is an unusual ship design for star fleet. This is because it was partially designed from the arsenal of freedom computer files after its shutdown and examination by star fleet engineers. It is equipped with a pair of adaptable pulse / beam phaser cannons that can be fed directly from the warp core and has it's torpedo launchers (1 fore, 1 aft) in a pod at the base of the superstructure for safety. It has a larger than normal warp core for it's size mounted diagonally for optimal use of space and ease of ejection in an emergency, as well as an advanced power grid that uses a dedicated fusion reactor for feeding the phasers at warp.
The little saucer at the top can separate and acts as a landing craft while the main body of the ship remains in orbit, though the entire ship is capable of atmospheric flight. The entire ship can also choose to land in an ocean if necessary.
It has a small shuttle bay big enough for one shuttle and two worker bees, which it carries as standard, but is also equipped with transporter synchronisers in the pylons to allow it to carry up to eight (4 dorsal, 4 ventral (upside-down)) shuttles or up to four runabouts (2 dorsal, 2 ventral (upside-down)) externally.
