I wanted to draw the sea, then this happened. Painting the sea is fun though. I have seen some beautiful and inspiring seascapes in art, and what especially fascinates me is that magical quality of the lighting in the waves. Started on my Saturday art stream, it definitely took some time to finish. If you watched the stream, you might notice that I repainted the rocks in a different style. I felt the look I started with didn't quite fit with the rest of the piece, as it lacked a proper sense of depth.I imagine Starlight Glimmer is feeling a bit let down by her ideals, now that she's seen how well her little scheme turned out. It would be interesting to see her return, perhaps with a completely new motivation to indoctrinate the ponies around her.

Ok. Mind blown for a few reasons. Firstly, Starshine Gilmmer was not equal in the first place - using her magic and all. To be reminded of that in a clear symbol (also happens to be very similar to DA logo, did they know something we didn't all this time), fantastic. Animal vs Ocean - contest, nature wins in fierceness and beauty. We must respect that power but never abuse it for our own purposes. The attention to light, detail and more is great here as well. Nice job and look forward to seeing more. Also my new desktop wallpaper. Thank you /)

I don't mind Starlight Glimmer. But anytime I see her I have to speak heroically and defend the ideals of friendship! and stuff.

It's kinda funny she's at the sea cause you know that was once the Dazzlings' home. And the Dazzlings were all about tearing ponies apart. And Starlight Glimmer was all about equality. Cool art btw.

Beautiful painting. Ā I always love great seascapes and you did a masterful job here on the waves and the lighting. Ā It's hard for me to think of many things that haven't inspired me more often in both art and real life than seascapes.
I also love the brush quality you have in Starlight's mane and tail.
