Monuments of Winter

Sturdy in a frost-bitten night tasting fate,

Building-up confidence now rise to the plate,

Circa survival re-tunes a memory,

Playful enmity walk so sensory,

Through recurrent drifts deep of yesterday,

Tuning me in with past lessons’ sway.

Oh the stroll through pages of teaching,

Nature chaptered the Seasons’ far-reaching,

She believed in me, branching dreams begot,

Staying alive; the a’s and b’s ne’er forgot,

Weaving a blizzard, monuments of Winter,

Speaking through time, he sings where we enter.

Pain becomes the treasure chest tightening bonds,

Following grooves, a tearful track responds

That hungry course of a snow-storm bestills,

Where a thaw will surely poor upon our wills,

Such province in scriptural breeze reads well,

For a path exists where our memories dwell.
