I seriously think you are one of the best colorists in the field. You art is also very strong, I don't know why you aren't doing more.
I really wish you could color one of my pieces but sadly your prices are probably high, and even then you are too busy.

Awesome! I am working on my own comic book, I am submitting it to Arcana, if you want you could always do a pinup or a cover for it... I would definately use it!

Ok ok, I'm gonna try not to be a total capcom fanboy... BUT Hugo is actually not the same big guy from Final Fight. He is pretty much identical but according to canon and official statements by capcom, Hugo was never a member of Mad Gear. Poison however (the girl from his intro, taunt and winpose) IS from Mad Gear and now manages Hugo in her attempt to go straight. She's rumored to be a transexual. "Mooo... owari???"
Now that my rant is out of the way...
I saw the inked version, and the face looks much better in this colored version. SOMETHING about the head isn't right to me, but I can't say exactly what it is. His pose doesn't really seem to capture his general feel in the game. He kinda looks like when he whiffs a regular grab. Other than that the proportions seem just about right. His pants seem in cat-woman shiny category. VERY nice effort at reproducing part of his stage BG.
If you want to continue practicing your inks and penciling... may I suggest Makoto? Why does noone draw her?

A brilliant piece of artwork, captured the essence of sf3 but in your own unique way. props!
I know the obssession with hugo, very overlooked charac., first couple years of sf3 you saw people focusing on Akuma,Ken,Ryu,Q,Urien,Yun,Ibuki,DUDLEY~!
but now almost 7/10 of the peeps i see at the arcade are hugo fans, but lets admit the most boring match to watch ever is HugoVSHugo ... Terrible.

Great job. He is by far not one of my favorite Street Fighters, but he is a character in my all time favorite Street Fighter series. The way you rendered the hair was a nice touch as well. Keep up the good work.

I've just read in another comment that this is his stage, but it doesn't quite fit him to me, as the color differences are a bit too strong, but anyway it does look very cool.

Anyway, I hate when fighting games use scenarios with diverse light conditions and don't make palette rearrangments in those cases. not that it would cost them much programming-wise, and it looks really cool when they do...

Aw, hell yeah! I KNEW this would look awesome once you got your colors on there, Dan. Hugo's one of my favorite characters to play as, and this totally does him justice. Mega thumbs up!

Even though I don't like Hugo, I do like how you draw and color him. The background is a perfect place hance his more softer side would be shown. Hugo, you big-hearted brute.

He looks like an action figure. That's both good and bad. The rendering is great, but the shine on those pants really overpowers everything else in the picture. Also, the character looks rather stiff... Hugo in the game is very loose and fluid. (although trying to capture the movement of the Capcom animation team on 3rd Strike is no easy request.
But the overall atmosphere is amazing. The lighting is excellent.

Thats, Hugo - beautiful. It's your colouring that makes it. I love how you did the attic from his stage(what the hell is that stuff on the plate?!?). I disagree with the comment about lighting. The light is coming from a celing lamp and the window behind, it looks just right to me anyway

Wow, I havent seen your background work properly before. I love what youve got here though. Of course the character is great too, but I'm amazed by the background for once!
Would love to see some kind of tutorial for how you coloured the background? Its just something I can never bother with...
