Description
"In the Lay of EΓ€rendil is many a thing sung of his adventures in the deep and in lands untrodden, and in many seas and in many isles; but Elwing was not with him, and she sat in sorrow by the mouths of Sirion.", J.R.R.Tolkien, "The Silmarillion"I totally messed up my own idea (for I first wanted to make it in a dry graphic style, then I decided to turn it into a watercolour, then I disliked the result and tried to bring some bettering by applying pastels... So there's no wonder I'm disappointed by the result.)
Well, let's hope it will be my chance to learn thanks to my own mistakes

I love this piece! It conveys perfectly the mood of the passage you illustrated. I can feel Elwing's solitude here very well: not even the beauty of the sunset could heal the solitude within her heart and her longing to see Aerendil again.
I also like the fact that she would bring the children along with her to see if there would be any signs of their father on the horizon. It also forshadows her own destiny to wait forever for Earendil's return from his journey through the sky in years to come.
All in all, I think you did really well here.
