Outstanding, Steve! So love the angle of the fallen tree, the wood photographed wonderfully, very bleached, the light is outstanding and I so love the depth in this shot. Very beautiful!

Thanks alot... I've done some postwork and tried to fix the hotspot. Do you think it's any better now?

great shot and colors....i feel like that tree at times. The water appears to be cold and fridge
and looking at the frosted trees solidifies the feelings

Thank you. I feel that way sometimes as well.

the fallen tree makes for an intricate foreground and the composition gives the illusion of the ghost of a past full life in the reflection. to me that makes this shot more than just another IR image in your gallery, not to understate your other works since they are beautiful in their own right, just putting this image in particular in another league. the symbolism drawn onto the now dead tree, whether accidental or intentional is spectacular. provides a feeling of longing...for life.

I really love getting comments like this. When someone connects with one of my photos on such an intricate level, I feel like I've accomplished something as an artist.

this one hit me instantly; you deserve all the acknowledgment on it, though it was quite difficult to put my feelings into words.
congrats on the feature as well

Very nice. Slight hot spot in the middle which could be combatted by shooting at a different f stop. F11 seems to be the best for an unmodified camera shooting with an IR filter. Of course it could be the lense.

I so rarely get actual, useful critique. Thanks alot for that. I really should have caught that. I've done some desaturation in the red channel - is it any better now?
