Description
My original intent was to join this event, but I lack the time to draw art within deadlines. My passion is video game design.Template is found here: [link]

Character story, background information, and inventory can be found here: [link]
Note: I corrected a minor mistake in the graphic design that was bothering me.
I recently did some extra writing, so I'm going to just add the story here for viewing convenience.

Current job: Bounty hunter/aspiring Elite Four
Background
The details of his ancestry are unknown, but none of his other immediate family members appeared as reptilian or tall as him. He was deemed to be sort of a mutant, but decided to live with it and always believed that something made him this way. Throughout the years, he was often discriminated and ostracized for being "different", and he took this to heart, believing all other humans to not accept him for what he was. However, when his classmates showed up with pokémon, they were a lot nicer to him than they would be to a human, so he decided his friends would be pokémon, not humans.
Since he was rather hateful of everyone, he knew that being mean to everyone could not possibly get him a job. He decided to learn how to act in college, and mastered how to imitate certain emotions and the like to be able to talk politically correct to others.
After graduating from college, he realized that college had cost a lot of money. However, he also discovered he was not required to eat as much as a human (by not eating before classes), and decided to take his cousin's newborn Eevee, his computer equipment, and a toy capable of reading one's mind with him to take a financial load off his family.
After a month of wandering around in Arizona, his savings had run thin, so he decided to get a job as a warehouse assistant, using his acting ability to pass the interview with his "diplomatic" name, Sungazer. Spending very little on food, he managed to earn more than enough to travel to his next location, and abandoned his job. Over the years, he repeated this pattern in addition to working out a program capable of translating specific thoughts to textual data, using Eevee as the basis for the thoughts one would use. He had the hopes of selling the software with a patent so he could constantly make money.
As his journey continued, he discovered the presence of villainous teams like Team Rocket. At that time, despite having Misdreavus and Porygon as other pokémon, he did not want to put Eevee in danger, so after a few battles he decided to attack the villainous grunts with his martial arts in self-defense, fighting alongside his pokémon whenever he was outmatched. He would sometimes get paid for turning in villains, and decided he would try to turn in as many of them as possible to earn more money. To protect his family and his real identity, he would use his other alias, "Skygate".
Upon returning to Orre, he found Snagem and Cipher becoming a dangerous presence. He wanted to avoid his pokémon becoming victim to snag balls (especially Eevee, who he decided to leave at a pokémon center most of the time to avoid that), so he was put at a disadvantage, having to fight without any backup. However, the tide changed when he found a nonportable Snag Machine in one of Cipher's hideouts. He took that Snag Machine, and with the assistance of a relative, reverse-engineered it over some time to create a portable Snag Machine that would fit him (as his arms were longer than a human's and he only had four fingers on each hand). Since the shoulder-mounted power supply was very cumbersome, he decided to rip his left sleeve off to make it feel comfortable. Following that, he ripped off the right so it wouldn't look like a costume and has done that for the majority of his shirts. He has dismantled the original captured Snag Machine in the hopes that it would keep suspicion toward him and not toward his family, as he was more combat-ready than they were. Though the Snag Machine is capable of snatching any pokémon, he decided to use it only against criminals or if his or his family’s life was being threatened, and never kept any non-shadow pokémon for himself, but rather, turned them in as accessories to the crime.
As time passed and his combat ability improved, he decided that like in other fantasy games, he should be prepared for combat, and attached titanium alloy and kevlar over the Snag Machine's latex covering, effectively turning the Snag Machine into a gauntlet. From that day forth, he decided to become a full-time bounty hunter and hunted criminals for money.
After a few years, his meddling in bounty hunting caused the number of villains he had to capture run low, and he could no longer rely on bounty hunting for income. After reading the news, he decided he would become an Elite Four (but not the Champion), because he wanted to have a constant income without the possibility that he would lose the position after being defeated. Using his current team, he challenged the gym leaders and won many badges, but never took an Elite Four challenge. Wondering if this was sufficient to be admitted as an Elite Four, he submitted a résumé to the pokémon league for review, and is waiting their decision amongst hundreds of applicants.
==~Personality~==
Very solitary and territorial, at first glance he comes off as hostile to anyone that he believes is making fun of him. He tries to avoid interaction with people, as he thinks that they think of him as a (pocket?) monster. However, if someone looks past his appearance, he becomes friendlier to them.
As he is not human, if anyone other than a store employee (that is not asking very personal questions) asks about his appearance, he will snap back at them rudely by criticizing something that's part of them. He will often hypocritically state that he is a "minority" and that he should not be prejudiced, and also that as he is not human, he is not subject to the same rules that humans are. If someone notices he uses both, he will then tell them to find what the rules are for aliens before even talking to him.
He is a lot more friendly with his pokémon and treats them as his valued friends, since they are friends for life. If he is around pokémon only, he will be more friendly overall and enjoy their company.
In a business setting, he will use his acting abilities to act as politically correct and professional as possible, disallowing anyone from knowing that he is actually quite hostile. His temper sometimes gets the best of him, though, and will occasionally break something discreetly if they judge him by his appearance or say something offensive to him. His acting is also not perfect, and sometimes will say something that he believes is polite but is actually rude, or will say something rude in a polite way on purpose. Using this acting ability, he can also lie to people, and if his acting is appropriate, only a lie detector can determine that he is lying. He will break character after he feels there is no further need to act, though, or someone has found a hole in his acting.
==~Physiology~==
Being a reptile, he does not need to eat as often as a human does. He can go for about 20 days without feeling hungry, but his performance does decrease the less he eats. After 30 days, he will begin to complain, and he has never been without food for more than 45 days (he finally decided to buy food after biting a member of Team Aqua). Following that he has not been without food for more than 30 days as a precaution, and at his best estimate, cannot go for more than 55 days without food.
The less he eats, the more he has to drink, though, and will often ask to borrow water cooler bottles to fill, and people have often complained that the water level in swimming pools have gone down after his visit. As a basis, he requires drinking about 5-6 liters of water per day, 9 if he does not eat, and can never be over-hydrated.
He is required to eat 6 pounds of food over the course of a day to satisfy himself for another 20 days. Any more than that, and he gains weight.
Though he is not technically human, he is no more or less fragile than a human. However, his reptilian physiology allows him to heal wounds faster than a human (an open wound that would take a week for a human to heal would take about 3-4 days for him if it doesn't get infected), and he can regenerate his tail if it is cut off (though he never has lost a tail before, which is why it's so long).
He is more comfortable in warmer climates and dislikes colder climates, since he will faint if he isn't wearing enough in the cold weather (but he won't go into torpor, he is just less tolerant to the cold). A "warm" temperature for some, to him, is perfect, and a "cool" temperature would be considered freezing to him. Due to this physical limitation, he heavily dislikes opponents that use ice attacks.
==Special Powers==
Jump high: Basilisk can leap somewhat high and has greater hang time than a human being. This is limited by his weight, and his hang time and jump power is usually cut due to all of the armor, etc. he carries.
Electric burst: Basilisk can use his powers to shoot lightning out of his gauntlet arm. He believes this to be inherent to the Snag Machine, as he is only able to use this power while wearing it and on the gauntlet arm. Doing this drains the power supply of the Snag Machine, but he can still use it if the power supply is empty, meaning it also has some connection to his physiology.
~~Pocket Monsters~~
Note: Basilisk is able to understand the quotes listed since they are their signature phrases.
Breloom - The Warrior
Purpose: Combat (direct)
Quote: “No one who has seen my eyes has every walked out without theirs… becoming black.”
Ability: Poison Heal
Ball type: Great Ball
Origin Location: Orre
Background
She was imported from Hoenn to Orre at a young age and given to a young trainer. That trainer eventually ended up joining Cipher and she became a Shadow Pokémon as an experiment. As an emotionless fighting machine, she gained a lot of combat knowledge, and fought without remorse. However, the less-combative Cipher member was unprepared for Basilisk throwing a water balloon at him, and he managed to snatch her.
Over the days that she was still under the influence of darkness, Basilisk walked around with her and did practice battles with people, as he noticed her combat ability was extremely strong. He managed to purify her after several days, but she retained some of the darkness inside of her.
About two weeks passed, and she evolved shortly due to the experience she had lacked when she was unpurified. When she saw her reflection, she did not like the appearance of her eyes, and tilted her head down. Basilisk respected this and decided not to look into her eyes. To apologize, she tried to fight as hard as she could, earning money through battles for Basilisk.
Eventually, Basilisk obtained enough money for her to ask the move relearner for help, and he granted her the power of Mind Reader. With this move, she was able to see into the hearts of the opponent, her eyes glowing every time she did so, and striking fear (or suspicion) into anyone that looked at her under her cap.
Over the years that she was Basilisk’s pokémon, she has continuously fought with great vigor as thanks for purifying her, and has gained the most (programming-wise) combat experience out of everyone on Basilisk’s team.
Personality
She likes to fight, because she was previously a Shadow Pokémon. She will often be prepared for a battle before it. Despite her normally combative personality, she also has a shy side. She will never let anyone view her eyes, and keeps anyone from doing so. If anyone does, she gets angry and drives fear into them. She is very loyal to Basilisk for making her normal again and will follow him anywhere.
Combat Behavior
Breloom is very skilled at combat, so she knows what to do on her own. Basilisk does not need to order her around, she is able to determine combat weaknesses and movement errors easily. She will often evade or block attacks to give time to question Basilisk’s orders if he wants her to do something contrary to her plans.
Seviper – The Executer
Purpose: Combat (direct)
Quote: “The thrill of victory! And the pain of defeat. Your defeat.”
Ability: Shed Skin
Ball Type: Great Ball
Origin Location: Hoenn
Background
While she was growing up, she had to defend her and her family’s territory from any possible aggressors. As she fought, she became more and more violent, and eventually her body mutated to have more spines and the shape of her tail changed as a result of her emotions. As time went on, she grew to like combat, and began to fight less and less for the sake of her family and more for the sake of entertainment or enjoyment.
As Basilisk was traveling through Hoenn, he happened upon her and her family’s territory. All that she saw was an intruder, while he just wanted to get through. She attacked him to defend her territory, and Basilisk had to fight back. He decided to run, but could not—there were too many snakes in the area, so he had Breloom help him. After a grand battle where Basilisk’s gauntlet finally got worn in, he decided to capture the overly combative Seviper without the Snag Machine. She has offered to fight for him
Personality
A gladiator of sorts, she will fight down to her last ounce of stamina even if she is fatally injured. She enjoys fighting and will do anything to be in combat, and gets irritated if she is doing anything other than that, inclusive of eating. Since Basilisk is the one that provides her with more combat, she obeys him somewhat, but is always looking for a fight of any sort, as well as victory.
Combat Behavior
She is quick to end battles, for she is an excellent combatant and can pinpoint weak spots easily. She will make use of her enemy’s weaknesses to disable them. If she has defeated an opponent, she will look for another one, but she will not attack a teammate. Since she likes to fight, she said to Basilisk to give her “battle patterns” to fight with which dictate her behavior rather than which move she chooses to use.
Garchomp – The Rogue
Gender: Male
Approximate age: 29
Purpose: Combat (interference)
Quote: “If I win, I get to go on a date with you.”
Ability: Sand Veil
Ball Type: Nest Ball <3
Origin Location: Johto (escaped from the Safari Zone)
Background
He had grown up in the wild near civilization, so as a Gible he would usually observe human behavior and began to act somewhat like them when he evolved. White a taller Gabite, he would often watch television through open windows.
As a Gabite, he watched an episode of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, and ended up becoming obsessed with the scene where the Gabite in the show used Attract. He began imitating that, and ended up learning the move through years of practice rather than a TM. He then started using Attract on every girl he saw for his own amusement, and weightlifted to increase his muscle mass.
Due to his flirtatious nature, he decided to flirt with Basilisk’s Breloom and Eevee, but Basilisk took offense to this and threw a Nest Ball at him, which caught him by sheer luck. He was unhappy that Basilisk had caught him, but after learning that Basilisk was a traveler, he decided he would be able to see the girls of the world and went with Basilisk on his adventures. Every time that Basilisk fought a female pokémon, he would use Attract and distract them with flirtatious talk, allowing him to finish them off easily. With all of the combat experience behind him, he evolved and claimed to become “more handsome”, deciding to even flirt with human females and flexing his muscles at them. However, he requested that Basilisk broadcast his flirty talk live, but since Basilisk was a guy, he didn’t feel that was appropriate and instead just gave Garchomp a ball capsule that burst into sparkles and hearts.
Since this embarrassed Basilisk badly, after a while he decided to put Garchomp into the PC for storage, but he has brought out Garchomp to fight against male gym leaders after a long hiatus. He is hesitant to use Garchomp against female trainers out of being embarrassed.
Personality
Very sexy, if he sees someone female (even human), he tries to flirt with her, provided that the female is shorter than him (if not, he will not attempt to). He dislikes the presence of males, inclusive of Basilisk, but he does not view Basilisk as much of a rival due to the aversion common human females show toward him, and will often (in a wild delusion) step in and flirt with the females that stay away from him. Usually when he does things it is to impress girls, especially Breloom or Froslass.
Combat Behavior
He heavily dislikes males, claiming them to be “rivals” of his potential mates, and does his best to defeat them. He will then say something like, “Bring out your women!” after the male is defeated. If he is fighting a female, he will dance around them and use Attract before getting serious. Like Breloom, he does not need specific direction, but he is willing to take orders from Basilisk should his initial strategy fail or the opponent cannot be infatuated or charmed with sweet talk.
Ninetales – The Priestess
Gender: Female
Approximate age: 240
Purpose: Companionship (permanent)
Quote: “You’re 1,000 years too early to defeat me.”
Ability: Flash Fire
Ball Type: Premier Ball
Origin Location: Johto
Background
She is part of a family of kitsunes that hunts ghosts and various other demons for a living and chose to evolve themselves upon birth, along with her older sister (who was not of shiny coloration). Unlike her sister, who used deadly 1,000-year curses to enslave other pokémon, she chose to learn abilities that would let her watch the opponent slowly suffer to drive fear into their hearts to never return. As a result, the number of ghosts steadily declined in her general area. Her older sister disliked this idea, but she decided that whatever got the job done would work.
While working on her own, she saw “a lizardman” traveling in Japan and found it to be Basilisk. She decided to talk to him a little, finding out that he did not know why he was “different”. Since he was “different”, she decided to travel with him to find out more about him, knowing her duties could wait for later, and traveling to see the ghosts and other possible evil creatures of the world.
If she is with her sister or an older family member, she can assume a humanoid form. Since she is younger, she does not have this power yet herself.
Personality
Sexy and seductive, she can charm males with her appearance, but does it for combat rather than for flirting or romance. Other than this, she can be unusually sadistic and finds joy in the pain of others. She does not like killing or death, though, saying, “They’re no use to me dead”. She dislikes hostile ghosts and demons, and is suspicious of Froslass’s true intentions. She shows a certain degree of affection toward Basilisk due to his “appearance difference”.
Combat Behavior
She prefers to torture her opponent, and uses her deadly combination attack to torture the opponent, slowly and painfully. The more her opponent angers her, the more likely she is to wish to see her opponent suffer as much as possible. If her opponent begs for it (or offers money), she will free them from her torturous attacks. If anyone pulls one of her tails maliciously, she will then feel that death (or in the case of fair battle, the end of the battle) is too good for them, and will use healing items on the opponent to prolong the torture instead of casting the 1,000-year curse.
Froslass
Gender- Female
Approximate age: 200
Purpose: Companionship (possibly temporary)
Quote: “Maybe we fight for your entertainment. Perhaps this is the real world, and the world you dream is a video game.”
Ability: Snow Cloak
Ball Type: Master Ball (presumably stolen from one of her victims)
Origin Location: Sinnoh (her original living place)
Background
Many years ago, in the high mountains, she appeared in snowstorms, enticing people with illusions and luring them to their death so she could eat them or simply amuse herself. As decades passed and technology improved, she had to think of new ways to prevent others from detecting that she was a sentient being, even if she was undead, and devised new ways to cast her spells to stop them from even leaving where she planned to kill them. As the number of “missing” people racked up in an area, she decided to move around to decrease the amount of suspicion she incited, and eventually traveled to Canada. There, in the less populated areas, she managed to lure many to their doom.
During her escapades in Canada, she decided to attempt to kill Basilisk, but due to his less-than-common thinking, none of her tricks worked on him. She decided to reveal herself to him for the first time in many years. She decided to travel with him because she found him “interesting”, and wanted to know more about him, especially how none of her illusions had any effect on him. To avoid revealing that she was the snow lady, she simply said, “People know of me,” and gave little other details about herself to Basilisk, and he intends to keep it that way.
Personality
She speaks entirely in riddles and never gives a straight answer to make her victims unaware of her true intentions. She portrays herself as being nice, but actually has intent to kill (or severely injure) for food or amusement. If she has the opportunity to kill or gain an advantage through killing or other means, she will take it, and will sever ties to Basilisk if it gets him in trouble. If she is around Basilisk, she will attempt to immobilize rather than kill, since she doesn’t want him to take responsibility for her actions, unless the enemy is fighting to the death.
Despite the fact that she chose to be with Basilisk, she does not truly care for him, and stays around him because he interests her, but she would not kill him or leave him to die when given the opportunity.
Combat Behavior
Rather than relying on brute force, she uses the environment to her advantage. She will use her spells on anything that could pose an advantage—trees, the ground, vending machines. She hardly ever attacks the opponent directly, but she will not do anything obvious that would make her seem weak in front of the opponent. She will not hesitate to insult her opponent or even give them complicated math problems to solve in the middle of a fight.
Eevee
Gender- Female
Approximate age- unknown
Purpose: Familiar
Quote: “I want to help!”
Ability: Adaptability
Ball Type: None (and won’t go into one)
Origin Location: Orre
Background
Born to Basilisk’s cousin’s Espeon, she inherently had the ability to heal. Basilisk took her from her mother when she was very young, but she sensed that it would be better to go with Basilisk anyway and went with him on his journey. On the beginning of his journey, he did not want to place Eevee in combat due to her age and would often throw food at wild pokémon to make them leave him alone, and gave her an Everstone in order to prevent her from evolving, since he needed her as a familiar more than a fighter. She helped him with his mind reader invention, providing many thought waves for particular phrases, allowing him to translate whatever Basilisk requires.
As time passed and Basilisk bought a Porygon and convinced Misdreavus to join him, she realized that she could not do nothing for him in the future and secretly took an Educative Device to give her experience that his other pokémon gained, allowing her to get combat experience. However, this also caused her to age slightly every time she discarded the Everstone.
As Basilisk became more and more combative due to the increasing power of the villainous teams, she began to wonder if his sanity was still intact and began to worry that he would eventually lose it. She decided to dismiss it as him trying to make a living and continued to accompany him on his travels.
Personality
Being very young, or at least possessing the body of a young Eevee, she acts very young and innocent. She is very cowardly but has learned Basilisk’s acting ability, and acts very brave in the face of danger until she knows she has no hope. She has a constant desire to evolve into Glaceon to help Basilisk fight, but he does not want her for anything except a companion.
Combat Behavior
As she is not truly a combatant, she acts as brave as she can, and uses a Protect shield if she cannot avoid the attack. She will heal herself if injured. After Basilisk encourages her enough, she will have enough courage to use Last Resort and blast her opponent away.

His dragon appearance is based on Rayquaza. Whether he is one or not is up to the viewer's interpretation, since he doesn't have any red fins.
