Description
Well, I made this tutorial some time ago, but I've never uploadedit in here. I decided to let it here for a while. It's my first tutorial
I've ever created. And I really like a lot to colour with Copics.
(C) 2008 Copic Tutorial done by me
Tools: Pigment Liner (Outlines), Copic Markers (Colouring),
Canon EOS 300Kit (Photos), Photoshop (Composing)
Bye bye.

Whenever I color with me E00 marker, I find that the color bleeds on the black outline and expands the outline to make it wider (I use sharpie).
What black marker do you outline with? Do you use a Copic Marker?

I used to do outlines but this an older Tut. Copics often do not work
with other media, cause they are alcohol-based. That's why the outlines
should be always done with smth which is water-based if not there's a risk
that copics will bleed the whole outlines. On this one I used Copic Multiliner
for the outlines and coloured with Copic, the Marker type. =]

about how much would you say a good set of Copics would cost me?

DarkSena In reply to DukeOfChaos [2010-08-24 11:07:10 +0000 UTC]
I cannot tell you that depends on for what kind of price
the local stores do sell it for. I saw a set of 36 markers
on Amazon for $175, maybe you wil find them cheaper =]

Ewww... yeah that's about what my research returned as well... at least $130 for a good set. can't afford that at the moment, so I guess I shall continue with my digital works D:

Try Ebay, too. I got 144 marker for 300 USD, but there are a lot of build-your-own sets for decent prices there ^-^

When using copic markers, can you use regular printer paper?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DarkSena In reply to kinimoto7 [2010-07-27 05:42:27 +0000 UTC]
Yes, you can use any type of paper, just there's always
the problem that the most papers aren't bleed-proof.
So be aware of that.

What paper would you reccomend for no-bleeding?

DarkSena In reply to kinimoto7 [2010-07-30 05:56:55 +0000 UTC]
There is a special marker paper which is actually
bleedproof but I do use myself the normal quarto
paper with at least 200g/m2. =] Much luck~

I have a question that doesn't seem to get explained in tutorials: How do you keep the drawing from coming out streaky from the markers?

ailou In reply to SuburbanWulf [2008-06-21 07:42:28 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, actually, I'm wondering about that too. I guess it's done with the blending copic markers, but I'm not sure.

wow, such a helpful tutorial C: but just a little question.. what kind of outliners do you use? copic?

DarkSena In reply to Ann-Helen [2008-04-14 22:16:00 +0000 UTC]
I wrote it in the 1st point. I actually use water resistant
liners like Copic Multiliners. But you can try other ones.
(Staedtler Pigment Liners etc.)
