Simply awesome. Some people still think using markers only results in childish drawings.

Thank you so much for thinking so, my dear!
I'ts true ^ _ ^;; I've even heard professors tell me things like "I can't understand how you can stand to use markers. They're such an unforgiving medium." Ppl are just ridiculous sometimes XD

i love copic markes as a medium most. But I stop using them because in my country the got very expensive. The Varoius Ink costs about 11-12$ for just one bottle.
sorry, that got nothing to do with your art xD

Your welcome. I wanted to ask something. Me and my friends are trying to do a comic but we have no idea how to start a script. How do you go about writing it? I'm not a very good writer and I'm not sure how much I should write for a first page of panels. ^_^

SiSero In reply to BagOhWolves [2014-02-14 07:56:27 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm...that's a good questions actually!
I have my own way of writing for my manga, but everyone has their own style.
You can always write it out in script form like follows:
Tim: Hey...seriously...who ate my mango
Jon- (looks uneasy) Um..mango...?
Tim: (looks suspiciously at Jon) Dude...you know which mango.
-Jon makes his way out of the room. Tim looks pissed.
LOL Pretty basic, but you'll get your ideas down quickly and there's no extra reading to get through
I hoe this helps!

I have an entire box of copics I was gifted that I haven't used yet.
So far it's been an interesting trial-and-error session, but hopefully this will work too.
Again, thank you so much.

oh! his is very helpful! thank you! I especially took note of using the broadnib with coloring in circular motions... never knew that it would work so well! i often have streaks in my coloring thank you!! > w < i also have difficulties i choosing the colors... may I please ask which favorite numbers of copics you use on reds and blues? thank you!Β
π: 0 β©: 1
SiSero In reply to oinkwarrior [2014-01-08 15:42:44 +0000 UTC]
OMG It was my pleasure, dear! Oh yes! Coloring in a circular motion has been a lifesaver for backgrounds that were completely black and needed to be clean and streak-free I hope that this little trick will serve you well! :3 Hmmm what colors I used for the reds and blues? OMG I own almost every Copic made (including the newest colors) so that would be a bit difficult for me to list, HOWEVER if you check out this link www.carpediemstore.com/mlistCa⦠it'll take you to an awesome art store I frequently shop from. Here you'll see all of the markers listed in order from lightest to darkest, and they are also divided up into blues, reds, greens etc. I always recommend that when choosing colors, try to pick 2-3 of the lightest colors from each color group with codes that are right next to each other on the chart. This will ensure that they will blend. Also, you can chose 1-2 darker colors that are FAR from the first colors you've chosen. This is a good way to have both variety and assurance that the colors will blend with little effort!
I hope this helps!

This is an awesome tutorial. The light to dark, and dark to light for shadows is usually how I color with copics, too. Though, I rarely use the broad side of the marker, but seeing that circular motion to do clothing makes me want to test that out sometime. ^^

I'm so thrilled you enjoyed it, hon! :3 Yeah, this is pretty much the normal way of working, but for may beginners, the concept doesn't come to mind right away This is more of a tutorial for those who are either brand spanking new to markers or are looking for some clear cut techniques to help them better understand the medium
I'm glad you were able to get something out of it and I hope it will serve you well!
