Disney AU - Vern Centipede and Theodore GrasshopperThat's ONE way to win an argument...
Well....Flat colors and nothing special about this at all. I mostly just wanted to A.) draw a kiss between the two and B.) show off shirtless Centipede. Because that's the kind of girl I am. I need to discuss with how Grasshopper's yard and home looks, so I can do propper fanart. We need actual backgrounds.

This is adorable! I love Grasshopper's expression. It's kind of an extremely condensed combination of "well this is unexpected and I don't really know how we got to this point BUT OKAY." I really like how his hands are lower and looser on Centipede--it makes it clear that he probably did not initiate this. And Centipede just looks so pleased with himself...an odd mixture of smugness and sweetness.
He's so sunburnt! It's amazing that he isn't a crispy little wafter by now! Obviously he's got his shirt off oftener than I thought.

I just...like to imagine that after he found out Grasshopper had the hots for him, he starts keeping his shirt off more. At first just to bug the older man because it was funny- plus the fact he does find himself attractive. But as it goes on, he does it because, damn, it's hot to see the old guy try to compose himself when he's being a big tease.

Oh, wow, yes, headcanon 100% accepted. Centipede seems like a guy with excellent self-esteem. Sort of a "Fuck yeah, I'm sexy as hell!" attitude. So since he's got it, he's not at all ashamed to flaunt it! And he does seem to like to send Grasshopper scurrying, so I'm sure he wouldn't hesitate to get the old man blushing.
And then, little by little, Grasshopper stops leaving the exact instant anything untoward happens, and Centipede starts to notice how his eyes get all dark and the way he thoroughly looks him up and down, and the way he absentmindedly touches his mouth with the tips of his fingers, and the way he smooths down his tie and jacket like he's actually stopping himself from just pouncing on him...
And so suddenly the shirt comes off a lot more often.

Grasshopper trying to stay composed is a hilarious thought- in any case. Sexual, confrontational, or otherwise. I can see the appeal and why Centipede is into teasing so much.
You know..I would also like to see Vern being possesive of Theo too. Like, maybe Ladybug prepares an outing to the beach for James and co, and there are maybe a lady or two that flirts with Grasshopper. Sure, it was OKAY, when they were given Centipede the eyes...But nobody looks at HIS man! (Not that he was worried or nothing. he's not into the dames. But they don't know that, and it's the principle of it! )

He's got a pretty fast temper, for a man as proper as he is. Trying to keep a tight rein on that is interesting to watch! And of course, who doesn't want to see their sweetheart with their inner animal off its leash? The way he expresses frustration in that elongation of his body and tightening of his limbs--and the fact that he gets very verbose--is kind of wonderful.
Oh, I could absolutely see that. I just don't know how Centipede would express that. I'm sure he'd take whatever excuse he needed to get his hands on Grasshopper, but whether he'd actually say anything or do anything to stake a claim is question.
On the other side of it, I imagine that it's relatively hard to tell when Mr. Grasshopper is jealous. He'll seem comfortable and watch and smile and not do much of anything, especially if Centipede is flirting with Miss Spider. But later on, once Spider and Centipede have gone on to do different things, Mr. Grasshopper will come over and stand behind Centipede, leaning down to him. He'd drag his fingers across the back of Centipede's shoulders and murmur, "Could I have a moment of your time, Vernon?" and take him off to remind him who he's with. Not because he's jealous, no. But just...to remind him.
