Darkwing Duck - Doctor Rhoda Dendron and BushrootYay! another portfolio piece done. It's about time we saw some fanart about Bushroot's stalker side. We're just call this my rendition of "Beauty and the Beet".

I'm scared to death by the read gleam in his eyes. I bet that under circumstances like these, good ol' Bushy can develop unforeseen powers of total destruction - and you found the right language to depict that. Kudos!

I haven't ever seen the movie poster you based this pose off of, but you nailed this. I saw it and thought "Damn if that doesn't look like a Universal Monster Movie!" Totally perfect and totally appropriate!

I wouldn't mind seeing "Beauty and the Beet" as a movie. Think of all the character development we could have had! Although, I think the actual episode illustrates it perfectly enough. But it would have been great to see more Frankenstein elements. Like how in the book he really WAS a misunderstood monster. He was a nice guy that was treated like a monster no matter what he did. Of course it's natural how it would affect you negatively. While he could have risen above it...Can you blame him? I'm sure even most sane people, if treated a certain way their whole existence, would start to become it.
"It's A Wonderful Leaf" is a good example of this, too. The guy was only going shopping. And was actually going to PAY for it. If I was beaten up and chased out of the mall, after having not done anything to begin with...I can't say I wouldn't have acted the same.
Why am I rambling here? LOL. I think you already KNOW all of this.
But yes, thank you! I'm glad you like! I'm really trying to amp up my digital art. I've been playing around and trying learn new techniques. Just so I can have something to show what I can do for my portfolio.

Wo do tend to forget that Bushroot is a dangerous super villain, I reckon. Like I told you before, you really got the mood right, neat background and I love the textures. A lovely addition to your portfolio.

Like I said, the cute misunderstood plant-duck IS a huge part of him. But we also need to remember there is a reason he's a villain. Is he the kind of guy to go murdering left and right in a bloody massacre? Naaah. But that doesn't mean he's any less of a threat. Although, I'm sure just giving the guy a hug will at least startle him and calm him down.

Haha! He's so "damn fucking pissed off", because of a few reasons. One, the idea to do something like this picture came from listening to a song. [link]
Then after listening to it, it reminded me of Bushroot a bit. The first thing jumping out was the "Beauty and the Beet" episode. Rhoda being the woman. Then I looked up Monster posters. (more info about that and what I referenced can be seen here: [link] ) The song and the poster both demonstrating the more creepy aspect of Bushroot's affections.
Buuuut, if you mean context wise...Like I said, it's based off of Bushroot's first appearance. He's probably angry that Darkwing Duck ruined his plans for trying to woo Rhoda.

Thank you! You're right, you seems to hardly ever find Bushroot just teed off in fanart. I think it's because many of his fans are drawn towards his cuddly index, so highlight his cute points. Which is all fine and dandy. That's a part of who he is. But he's also a villain. And I think we sometimes need to be reminded of that.

Definitely. While I love the whole misunderstood mad scientist in need of a hug thing, he just wouldn't be Bushroot without that pissy side x) I mean the dude stole christmas, he's totally hard core

He would never hurt his Rhoda. He's probably so pissed looking because he's thinking about Darkwing ruining his plans to woo her the RIGHT way. To quote the Mad Hatter from Batman: "It was never meant to be this way..."
If you look at Bushroot in the right light, his love and obsession can be scaaaarey.
