alright. but what i usually do is just draw anime, manga, people, and cartoons. i really don't go in a process like the one you listed in the tutorial. i just get to it. i do the line work, details, shading, and then i'm done.

you're working with a full completed process. that generally means higher prices. I haven't gotten a look at your art just yet, but definitely don't go under $5. that's just too ridiculously low.

I am getting better in my drawings lately, and just as I was wondering if I should maybe start with some small commissions, somebody on a website who saw a drawing I submitted for a contest asked me if I did commissions! So I said "Why not?" XD But I was a little bit in the dark on that topic (it's someone from another country too, so it was double trouble haha). ESPECIALLY on the fact that I KNOW I'm likely to underprice my art but I don't want to >_>
So thanks again! I'll be sure to price myself fairly, and if I ever decide to do commissions on a regular basis, I'll use this guide as well to set up my commissions info page : )

im sortve a noob but when you do a commision does the person that paid you to do it keep it and post it to their gallery? like if I drew a racoon commision, does the person who paid me to do it have a right to post it as theirs?

it's all up to you XD you can choose to let them upload it to their gallery, or you can tell them they aren't allowed to. as long as it's agreed upon before you do the commission - there shouldn't be a problem.

you can, yah. it's all up to you ^^ some traditional artists will send a print in the mail. Others (like a lot of digital artists) will email it, or even post it here on deviantart. I post mine here in my gallery and let the owner just copy it to their desktop. saves time of having to email AND post it.

This is a very helpful tutorial! I'll be starting to take commissions soon, and I still know little about the whole ordeal.
However, I'm in a bit of a predicament. I'm British, so I use pounds, but the majority of people here who would commission me use dollars. I've found the minimum wage like you said, but I'm afraid that I'll be charging too much (exchange rates and all that) and I don't want anyone to be put off. Do you have any advice?

i think the same method sort of applies - go with what seems normal for your country.. if you don't get any commissions, then drop your prices a little and see how it goes :3 Paypal helps with this sort of thing since it can automatically convert the different currencies and payments for you

This will come in handy when I decided to start commissions (Really want to the end of this year start of next year maybe.)
