"Bravo, Monsieur! Such spirited words! Let's see, Monsieur, how far you dare go!"So apparently I can't stick to the drawings that I need to do, or the drawings requested of me. There's just been an explosion of inspiration lately, and you all will be seeing the outcome of that in the near future. I hope you all don't mind the current stop to requests... I'll be getting back on track shortly.

I mean to say in the musical they use special effects in this scene,but in movie where they had the sword fight when the phantom was trying to get rid of Raoul or I'm making this confusing.

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the show. I think those small glints was so pathertic. They could do some better effects at the big theaters. (And I've seen it in Denmark and London)
But your drawing is lovely and funny and the shadings and colour is realy great

I think a few years back the effects were much better. This last time I saw POTO on the US tour, the balls were pathetic, like you stated! I'm seeing it in London this summer... you're saying the effects aren't all that great? Perhaps after a certain someone's feathery hat caught on fire they had to tone down the fire effects somewhat...

But I think it is just because it is an old show. They should close it down for half a year and then reopen it with better effects and so. And quit the 80-style. Andrew Lloyd Webber shouldn't be that conservative. All shows can use a retouch sometimes.

eh-- I'm just afraid Sir Andrew would ruin it. The music was written in the 80's, and thus the 80snish of it all would still remain, no matter what you did to the effects. Besides, the effects aren't what's really important. How can it get any better? I think as long as the singers and the actors can play the parts, it's a heart-wrenching and warming production. I seriously would fear for the show if anyone closed it down and revamped it... call ME a conservative, but I love it, despite it's old-fashionedness!

I LOVE it too... But you can do it... just take a look at the film version. Much better than the stage-version. Better costumes, better interpretation of Phantom and Christine and... not 80's-ish. I know there is a big differense in movie and theater, but thats not what I talk about. There are just some elements i think worked better in 2009 at the movie than the theater.

Perhaps you're right-- but I really prefer the stage version to the movie in many ways. Sure, the movie has things that I love too, but the stage version is just-- more classy. I don't know-- the movie got too "steamy" if you know what I mean, and not that I didn't like the sexual tension, it's just that on stage it's hard to make that happen correctly. I think both versions have their place, and if you try to mesh them together disaster would ensue. My personal opinion!

I LOVE this! Stage Phantom is my absolute favorite and, looking back on it, just /saying/ that he shoots fireballs at Raoul seems really weird, but when your seeing it, it somehow makes perfect sense that he would.
