Description "That's what I admire about you, Korra. Your willingness to go to extremes in order to get what you want. It is a quality we both share."

What very well may be one of my final pieces in this neato series I've been doing. This one turned out very well. Went off of the reference image I used quite a lot for once.

Tarrlok is definitely one of the more interesting characters introduced in Legend of Korra. Jerks with depth always are to an extent. There are many criticisms I had with LOK but Tarrlok was not one of them.

Legend of Korra and all related characters belong to Viacom/Nickelodeon

Art is mine

"Control" or a close Japanese approximate found through ten minutes of google.

This whole series of yours is amazing (I've never seen anything like this style before) and the words you chose for the characters fit them perfectly-- you pinpointed the very core of their personalities. I'm definitely faving this one with Tarrlok, since he really turned out to be one of the most interesting characters in the show in my mind as well. Kudos to you for doing this!

Hah, thanks this made my evening. I was actually inspired to make these minimalistic pieces by the fantastic Superhero series by Kerrith JohnsonΒ kerrithjohnson.deviantart.com/ style wise I thought he was really on to something and I really liked the idea of trying to sum up a complex character in only a word or two. You should really check them out if you fancied the avatar stuff I've made and like superheroes in anyway whatsoever. His pieces are much better and in many ways my Avatar fan art is just an homage to him.

Thank you for the explanation and the link, I'll definitely be checking this artist out. Very kind of you to point him out, it's really a rarity to find such a humble and helpful person such as you have just shown to be. I love your attitude. Thank you for replying. Keep up the amazing work!

I so agree with that statement! Tarrlok, in my opinion, is one of the best characters on the show because of that. And frankly I've still bitter over the boat scene - that end they gave him when it looked like he was about to embark on a redemption arc - was totally out of place and unjustified and really it was purely there only for shock value. >.< *angry*

I actually don't mind it that much. While a redemption arc could have very well been an interesting concept I think that the creators method of having more self contained books would instantly put the kibosh on that. And In a way what happened was in a somewhat twisted way Tarrlok's own idea for redemption. And as shocking as it may have been if it was just for shock value no kid's network in their damn mind would let a Murder/Suicide occur on screen. For that matter you never know... Maybe it's a fake out?

I just think everything about the character was handled with a lot of class. There are always "What ifs" and all that jazz but for what happened it was a very solid and mature character arc for an antagonist character. Most don't get that in fiction overall.

I would agree, honestly thought the murder suicide was well placed. It totally blew me away that they allowed it. But considering how many times Avatar skirts around with the censors, it wasn't surprising.
