Re-Watching ATLA and realized I omitted someone hugely important from the minimalism series so I whipped this bad boy up.Iroh was a hell of a character and definitely one of the top ten fictional Uncles out there. Compassionate, sometimes to a fault he never gave up on his Nephew even when he had every reason in the world to do so. He was sympathetic to almost everyone regardless of their feelings towards him. Also he liked Tea a lot.

They're all winners in my book but I have to say I was very disappointed in myself for omitting him until last week. Iroh's fantastic.

I completely agree. The entire cast is amazing and I loved growing with them as the series progressed. It's a little heartbreaking to know that we won't get to see them in LoK but I'm sure we love the new Team Avatar as much as the old one.

The Darkhorse comics continuation of the original series isn't bad though if you're missing the original cast.

"The Promise" trillogy, and the up and coming "The Search" but yeah.

What's "The Promise" about? I heard "The Search" is about the gang helping Zuko look for his mother and we find out more about the characters in general. Is this a legitimate part of the series or a spin-off?

"The Promise" Is a direct continuation of the series. It literally starts at the exact end of the Animated show, and it deals with the formation of what will eventually become the United Republic. The seeds of "The Search" are planted in "The Promise" and I can only imagine that the first will have to be read to fully understand the upcoming series.

I would think so, but I only know for sure that you can get all three parts of "The Promise" at any Comic book shop.
You could order it offline for sure.
However, I would wait for February when they release the Hardcover volume of it which contains all three parts and the concept sketchbook.

I think it's physically impossible to actually hate Iroh. It's amazing how many amazing characters can fit into this show! Do you think you'll do any other ones?

I might, there are always additional characters if I look towards the minor ones but I can only conceive of doing a handful more at this point in time. At least until LOK produces more episodes.
So yeah, I'll probably do more. I took a fairly long break between my last one and this one.
