I started out using a Nikon EL, then switched to using a F80 for tha speed. Now its all digital for faster results.

Hey man, I have to confess you that this is the first time I add an id to my favourites, but I have to admit one thig: this is one of the most creative.

You have really understood the meaning of the word "photography": "to draw with light".

Congratulations for your brain & eyes.

Thanks. It's kind of a different experience having my own face in an image for a change...

i keep forgetting to comment, and have done for the past three or four days!! d'oh!

i absolutely love this image! i guess its silly to comment on your id rather than any of the other outstanding images in your gallery, but wow - i really love this shot! it's sooooo well executed. something i'd love to aspire to and has got me really thinking about the medium of photography and what you can do with it...

Hey, thanks! I'm only just now geting my head around the whole DA comments interface as I'm pretty new here and I got a bit overwhelmed by the response.

This shot was taken as an alternative entry for a UK website self-portrait competition. My original entry (Incubus) was disallowed for fairly obvious reasons, so I spent an evening in the dark with a mirror and a flashlight. Very strange it was too.

A couple of years ago I discovered that you could light an photograph with just about anything that gives off light - and I've been playing with that ever since.

Yay! Another convert to the dark arts of lightpainting

Breaking the small bulbs and burning your fingers on the big ones is all part of the fun...

Thanks. It was taken for a self-portrait competition on a UK photography website. Luckily it came 2nd or they would have had me rather than the lovely Muse on the homepage for a month

Wow. This is just amazing. Your whole gallery is amazing, but this is especially so. Love the shape the shadows give to your face - real evil villain look !

Simply amazing. Must have been painstaking. I love blurred light effects, specifically light trails... I have a few cheesy digis of much the same in my gallery. This image, though... simply stunning. So stark, and the mystique is palpable. A fitting ID.

Hey, thanks.

The only light source is the small flashlight that left the light trail. Drew that in with my right hand while attemting to keep my head and left hand still. Not easy. Gave me a whole new respect for the models I normally shoot this kind of stuff with.
