DBZ and all its characters belong to Toei Animation, Funimation, and Akira Toriyama (Who is god of this world).I don't have a huge problem when shows want to put in their writer's view of the world or do any of that other stuff, but don't interrupt the action for it. DBZ touched on Vegeta and Piccalo's pasts once or twice when their was a significant break in the action, that's it.
LEARN FROM THEM, NARUTO, BLEACH, ALL THE YU-GI-OH SERIES, INUYASHA, AND PROBABLY EVERY OTHER ANIME EVER!

No, I won't admit that it's for the action. Goku is the dad every kid would want and he is down to earth even if he is a monkey. xD But the development of characters isn't too shitty. I love DBZ and it is my favorite.

My dad is just like Goku, to be exact! XD With a little bit of Krillin. I dunno...to me the only characters whose development is extraordinarily good is Gohan and Vegeta. Don't get me wrong, I love DBZ too, but I know it's not entirely the best out there.

um...i dont mean to offend anyone. and i love DBZ, but i have to say i disagree. here's why: there is very little plot or character development, FIGHTING is ALL it is. not only that, it kinda discriminates against girls, because think about it: Bulma, Bulla/Bra, Marron(both of them), and most of the other women dont fight at all and are weak. Chi Chi's retired and was never in any big battles, Videl cant use chi blasts and was never in any big battles, and Pan is the only fighting Saiyan(other than the ones that were killed by Frieza) that cant turn Super Saiyan. that only leaves Android 18..... please dont kill me, i didnt mean to offend anyone. i am only stating my opinion. and i think Inuyasha is good!

this was just about the only anime i'd ever watch when i was a kid. i could never (and still will not) get into sailor moon.. too much romance and not enough violence lol. loved this show then, and still love it to this day!

Do you even know of good anime thats fighting with little back story?! Dbzs bullshit to the fucking max its the horror of the anime genre as its spanned countless other crap just as bad.
heres a very good anime with little backstory or drama Guuren Lagann fuck is the last two or three eps and ended of the secound movie would destroy Dbz as in Gurren Lagann there was planets thrown at a group that lived another was smashing two galaxies together for a attack proof first one to show then literally by the force of two colliding attacks suck the universe up[albeit a pocket dimension's universe but still] [link]

I'm not going to look at the links, 'cause I plan on watching that show and don't want to be spoiled. However, I can tell you that, when galaxies collide, which they do IRL, there's hardly any collisions occurring.
This is because stars and their planets are so far apart, the odds of hitting are minimal. For comparison, if Earth was a galaxy, a small rubber ball would be a star. Place one rubber ball somewhere in Virginia, the next one is somewhere in Minnesota.

But Anime laws are way different then real lifes laws,when your in later on in the last eps of Gurren Lagann you can't help but love it
Also mess up in links this ones to the sucking galaxy's up from attacks meeting and its from the last movie,which the movies are like retailing of the series just more or less skimmed throw withed stuff and some changed battle scenes even changed the last battle. Anyway heres the clip [link]
