Description
A collection of 30 brushes for FireAlpaca. I did NOT create these, I simply exported them to the .PNG format and configured the parameters. Also 2 pencil presets that may be useful for sketching. All brushes are aptly named.The screenshot demonstrates them in action (pressure sensitivity not used).
You need to have the program installed first. This is not included here, and must be downloaded seperately from it's website. If you already have saved brushes of your own - be prepared to have them overwritten. This will NOT however, overide the default brushes like blur or watercolour.
Unfortunately, FireAlpaca doesn't save the brushes config files into the programs direct folder, but instead into your local settings folder. Therefore you need to manually copy the zipped "FireAlpaca" folder to your OS's appropriate directory.
You should be able to locate this folder from the programs "help" menu. These folders may be hidden, so you may need to right click in your file browser to "show all / show hidden".
If for some reason this doesn't work, see below:
For Windows XP the directory for the unzipped folder to be copied to should be:
C:-Documents and Settings-YOUR_USER_ACCOUNT-Local Settings-Application Data-Local
For Vista and Windows 7, the folder is:
C:-users-yourname-appdata-local
These are the directories where a "FireAlpaca" folder should already exist, so check it first. In it should be 3 ".ini" files - these are your setting files for the saved brushes, and are the ones that need to be overwritten. Any messages about overwriting files must be answered with yes.
If you use a MAC then I'm afraid I don't know where the folder should be copied to. If it has a file search tool then search for "brush.ini" and the directory should be found.
It's all a bit akward, but the only way to do it right now.
* Tip - when using them make sure "anti-aliasing" is turned off. I've noticed it causes massive slowdown when turned on, and anti-aliasing doesn't seem to work anyway.
* This requires the latest version of FireAlpaca to work. It will not work with older versions that do not support the new BITMAP brushes.

(( Hi, I'm running a windows seven and I'm having trouble with this - can you do step by step directions? I'm quite new to these computers, and firealpaca, so I would really appreciate it - thanks! ))

You need to download the file on this page (right hand side where the green arrow is pointing) and unzip it into your hard drive. Doesn't matter where, but after unzipping it open the "Fireaplaca" folder where there should be 3 files and 1 folder: brush_Bitmap, config.ini, language.ini, brush.ini.
2) Delete the "config.ini" file and keep the window for this folder open.
3) Start Firealpaca, go to "help" and then choose the "open config folder". This should open a new window.
4) Go back the first window that has the files, select them all and right click on them, then choose "copy".
5) Now go to the window with the folder that Firealpaca opened, right click on an empty space, and choose "paste. This will copy the files needed there. If it asks you if you want to overwrite the files, then answer "yes" at all times.
6) Close Firealpaca and the 2 folders, then restart Fireaplaca. The brushes should now be there along with the standard ones.
If it doesn't work let me know.

Doesn't look like the right folder. There should not be a second "Firealpaca" folder there. Try copying the files into the Firealpaca folder that comes before that second one.
If it doesn't work then check that you have the latest version of Firealpaca, because only the latest versions support the new brushes. The version can be checked with "help" and the version should be: 1.0.41
If still no success then correct folder should be:
C:\users\yourname\Appdata\Local\Firealpaca
The "yourname" part is named "PC_Users" by default, otherwise its whatever the name your user account is.

The program works with Windows 8, so it should do.

uhm, when I opened the pack I took the 3 files and overwritten them, but for some reason they don't use the pattens/images in the brush_bitmap folder, they just all work like the pen.
Can you help me?

I have Windows 7 as for where I put the files, their in C:\Users\Home\AppData\Local\FireAlpaca\FireAlpaca

I think I know the problem now. There shouldn't be a second Firealpaca folder after the first one there. Try copying the 4 files (brush_bitmap, brush.ini, config.ini & language.ini),into the first Firealpaca folder, the one that is just before it:
C:\Users\Home\AppData\Local\FireAlpaca

I went and did that after what you've told me, but there hasn't been a change.
Is there something that has to be done with the brush_bitmap to make sure the brushes respond to the images in the bitmap folder?

Very strange. I've got Windows 7 and they worked fine.
Try going into the program, go to "help" and then "open config folder". If the 3 files and bitmap_brush folder aren't there, then that's where they need to be copied to. If it still leads you to the same folder where you already copied the files to, then delete the "config.ini" file; close the program and then restart it.
Failing that, un-delete the "config.ini" file from the trash can and I'll look into what else may be causing it.

I've never used the BITMAP brushes, because I'm new to using a tablet. How exactly do I get these brushes, and use them for the program? ( I have been using firealpaca for a bit, and i have the latest version of it. )

You download the ZIP file that I uploaded here, then you need to unzip it to your local settings\application data folder. It will overwrite all your current settings though. To unzip the file, you need an unzipping tool like this:
