She has a hard time with the real long term philosophical questions. I empathize, they aren't easy for me as well!

It's also strange to think that Jim is basically the one speaking for Scarlett

"It's stuff every human thinks from time to time, Scarlet"
Interesting way to put it..

Southern dialect needs work.
For your homework, I suggest you read Krazy Kat by George Herriman, and Pogo by Walt Kelly. They were two comic-strip cartoonists who were masters at dialect.
You might also be interested in Walt Kelly's work since he apparently worked as an animator for Disney. I think it might have been on Dumbo, and was probably one of the many animators that got laid off during the production of that particular film.

It proves that I actually listen to constructive criticism, doesn't it? I'll be continuing to work on the background as opprotunities present themselves, and the blending really does help.

This has to be the best art I've ever seen you do in the history that I've known about your art. That second panel is very well done.

The backgrounds could still use some work, but everything seems to be moving in the right direction -- I also really like the panel layout of this page... different angles, figures are varied in size, and it flows well. Congrats on it
-- story's coming along great, cant wait for more
