Totally agree. In fact, I'm trying to veer away from the deeper colors and work with the lighter blues and greens. I've been happy with the results from my paintings like Alice in Wonderland. No wonder you like it so much! It works so well

This illustration resonates a lot with me - when I was a little girl I dreamt of meeting Aslan... for real, in the real world ! I can see myself in your drawing...

That's the great thing about artwork, music, stories, and things like that. I know I do the same thing by imagining I am a character in a story. I am happy it relates to you too. That makes me happy If my work does one thing when I'm long gone it will hopefully be just that.

That's a very interesting idea, that our artwork may touch/move someone or make them happy long after we've gone... maybe that's why we create? Of course I supose we create because we don't want to be completely forgotten, but also because we want to leave something as a present to others when we're gone... mm it sets me thinking!

I agree, if a friend or family can look at my work after I'm gone and remember me and smile, then that painting was definitely well worth it.

Thank you Joanna, you always say the best things! The reference I had of Mario's daughter was that she was looking at her teddy bear... I couldn't pass it up - the bear had to go in! I can't wait to meet them in a few months

Aslan is one of my favorite characters of all time. I hope to be able to paint him again soon This is the kind of work I would like to do more of.

I wouldn't blame you, because art like that is also relaxing for the artist as well.
I prefer sunsets, but unfortunately my skills aren't to the level I'd like them to be at for scenery. I just gotta keep working at it. xD

All I can say is the advice given to me several times... When you think you are done, take a few hours or days off... come back to your piece later and put some more time into it to really sharpen it to take it to the next level. As much as I love my new painting. I could have put in another 5 to 10 hours
