Description
A Convair RB-36H Peacemaker bomber on display at Castle Air Museum in Atwater, Ca. The massive bomber, which is bigger than a B-52, was America's airborne nuclear deterrent at the beginning of the Cold War. It could fly 8800 miles unrefueled and deliver a nuclear or convention payload of 72,000 lbs. Notably, it has four jet engines and six backward facing piston engines. These served from the 1940s until 1959, as far as I know there are four complete bombers left.Castle Air Museum
