That is a great portrait. I like how you used your own style and still made him recognizable. Good job

Great paintings (as usual) Dave. I just caught Jack in what HAD to be one of his earliest films. "The Raven" directed by Roger Corman (of course) starring Jack, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price and Peter Lorrie.

Actually, he was pretty involved in the beginning of the movie (he was Peter Lorrie's son making a play for Vincent Price's daughter). It probably wasn't his very FIRST role, I think his cameo appearance as the masochist in the original "Little Shop of Horrors."

Yeah, here it was called "Shock theatre" and I never missed it at all! We also had "Lights Out" which played more of the sci-fi monster movies.

Heheh, SCTV was really cool, huh? So many people from the old show have made it fairly big too.

Nice work, youve really captured him here. I love the fluid brush work also, it seems to really flow with confidence.

Agree-its RPM definately...all early 70's "Jack" cinema was powerhouse stuff-{much like deniro-pacino-hoffman at that time, too} what an era of great dramatic acting..

Jesus, I know-- at least our generation has Daniel Day Lewis, Mickey Roarke, Sean Penn and (sometimes) Johnny Depp to show for itself...
Ellen Page is just fantastic-- she might be the new Paul Newman...

Yeah-"Indie"/smaller films are where to find the raw talent today I guess--"Juno's" Page I woulda had no idea how super awesome she is- because I saw her in X-Men 3 earlier before.. Philip seamore hoffman and John c rielly are "real" actors that I like too..theres a small handfull, yep

The guy, too, though-- really, two landmark performances in something that's just crazy gripping from start to finish-- I don't really think that movie's been given the credit it's due.
