Description While these two are characters in the comic these were more just gesture drawings to get me use to them since there will be a few pages with them and I dont have much experience drawing either species.

The fox is suppose to be emaciated and extremely thin. That was one of my challenges with these gestures of him, since I'm not use to drawing thin sad looking animals but pudgy happy ones.

I might try to do a few more different animals as emaciated since there will be a lot of them coming up in the prologue, but the fox i really wanted to get down.

Tho idk do you guys like seeing these sketches? I've had one person say they do but if you'd rather me just submit them to my scraps or not bother I'll just keep them on my computer.

Critiques are warmly welcomed

I like the idea of you putting sketches up. It's fun to see the process that very talented artists go through in order to improve ourselves, you know? And of course sketches just look cool. xD Very cute, looking forward to these two!

I, for one, love seeing these sketches It's very interesting to see the effort you put into getting these pages to look nice, and neat to see the early stages of your work ^^

I LOVE seeing your concept sketches. Seeing them helps me think about how to do mine

If you are going for emaciated for the fox then I think you need to box up his legs more. The sketch in the middle where he is sniffing the ground, his back leg is too rounded. As he would lose body fat and muscle from lack of food his legs would lose their nice rounded muscle look and become more boxy. I would make more of a triangle/rectangle shape than ovally. I guess to sum that up his hip bone needs to stick out more with the skin stretching from his knee joint to the hip bone [link]

I love seeing your sketches! it's really nice to see an artist's sketches cause they reveal a little more about them than some artwork does I love them!

I really like seeing the sketches, it feels like I'm really following every aspect of upcoming pages. These are good, though I would consider making the fox's tail a little more ragged, less lush and smooth. Since he's obviously been through a lot, he should look ruffled as well as malnourished.

Holy fsshhheeesus that fox is cute asdfghjk;lasda and the rat I just want to hug it and squeeze it and keep it forever.

I LOVE TO SEE THESE SKETCHES YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY BOTHER.

And I watch your scraps so

And I don't know if you're looking for critique on little sketches, if not, sorry, but one thing about underweight animals is that you can see their back bone as well as their ribs, when people draw their backs smooth like a healthy animal and the ribs showing it always looks weird to me.

I take it back, foxes, wolves, huskies and so on tend to cover it up with their long fur, and either just look really thin or show the ribs a bit. [link] [link] [link] (Couldn't find any better pics.)

Heh.. Anyway.

Sketches are better then nothing at all. Becides, it's fun to see some of how your brain is working and commenting and critiques make us feel like we have a (small) part in this process.
