Just a fun little idea I drew over the weekend.
When the recently-released movie saw Sonic living on Earth for several years, I kind of wondered what would happen if he should meet a normal hedgehog.

Credit to Clip Studio Paint for the special grass brushes, though. Besides using the in-built brushes to form the foliage, I basically just adding a layer of shading to make it less flat.

certainly a curious situation, I can't help but wonder what's going through Sonics mind, considering he was very inquisitive in the movie. Loving how you illustrated all his fluff and the foliage in the background looks really nicely done too!.

Heh, indeed... and at least with the movie-version Sonic, you could see the wheels turning, as it were.
The videogame Sonic is so intent on being "cool" these days that he's near-emotionless... this new Sonic could laugh, cry (almost), feel and emote!
I could believe him being intrigued by the sight of a feral hedgehog...

I've been experimenting a fair bit with Clip Studio Paint lately and there are some neat features I'm getting the hang of. The grass and foliage is courtesy of some special brushes that can make the random shapes of vegetation clumps and all I really had to do was pick the back and forward colours, then paint it over with a shading layer to make it look less flat.
Those tree trunks definitely presented some challenge too, as I pretty much did those from scratch.
