Description
this pic is sooo oooollld...like...drawn in early April last year omfg! It was pretty much done when i drew this but I didn't do the boulder...yeah..that's why it was put off. Oh, I'm sooo bad! <33I really do like this pic though. Palmyra is my favourite part of the pic. She's normally the spirited and happy person, but I got a kick out of drawing her angry. As for Edra's expression, well...This was gonna be Edra's fight, but Palmyra butted in and stole her thunder XD The end.
Edra(water) and Palmyra(earth) and ArtΒ©DR, bitch!

lol
Palmyra looks so pissed it's great XD
And the other girl has that sort of "oh shit" look to her that just compliments the overall picture.

Edra is actually using water magic there

Looks like Edra only uses water magic though. Since she did say "water" on the bottom of the copyright part.
I'm just a big fan of using thunder and lightning elementals. I guess that's how my character turned out to be.

Ok, I see now. So that's why you were going on about lightning . I like lightning, myself, but I feel more drawn to plants than anything else. The same goes for my own character :3

Poor Edra . I like Palmyra when she's smiling, but you can't have an earth-power character, and NOT have them explode sometimes XD

I dunno, I figure exploding is usually left to the Fire-types, whereas Earth-types are more down-to- well, earth.

Hm...true, true, but ya gotta remember that fire and earth pretty much go hand in hand as far as volcanic eruptions go
Then, there's the matter of earthquakes, but that's another story :3

Actually, there's some sort of personality chart that goes along with the elements. Each one is either extroverted or introverted, as well as stable and unstable. The lighter elements (air and fire) are extroverted, whereas the heavier ones (water and earth) are introverted. In the same way, the more volatile elements (fire and water) are unstable, where the more inert elements (earth and air) are stable. Therefore, fire is unstable and extroverted, water is introverted and unstable, and so on.
I think that's how it went, anyway; I might have gotten them mixed up a bit. It's in Wikipedia somewhere.

I don't think plants are really elements. Also, there are intermediate positions between the four elements when placed in a square or diamond fashion. Between fire and earth it's "dry", earth and water it's "cold", water and air it's "wet", and air and fire it's "hot". Furthermore, in the physical world most things can be described as solid (or earth), liquid (or water), gaseous (or air), and the most recently defined, plasma (or fire), of which stars are made of, not unlike a superthin gas.
On a less dense note, does your handle have anything to do with the character Cyrus from Chronotrigger?

I've done a bit of thinking about it before, and I realize that plants aren't true elements, but that still doesn't change my feelings about them
Haha, you'd be surprized how often I get that question XD. Actually, I heard the name Cyrus in a dream. See, when I was thirteen, I started to have this series of dreams that were connected. Each new dream added a piece to this "world" where they all took place. Eventually, I saw myself in some sort of reflective surface; it was me except I had cat characteristics like the ears, muzzle, and tail . When I saw this, the name Cyrus just stuck out in my mind above all else...aaaaaand there you have it! Cyrus is the name of my "fursona."

Inksmith In reply to Cyrus-Neko-Knight [2005-06-23 16:21:18 +0000 UTC]
Come to think of it, "wood" was one of the Chinese classical elements, so you're not wrong. And that's a very interesting method of developing a fursona; I wish my own dreams were as helpful in my creative life, but alas, they're just horribly cryptic.

I don't know if you're familiar with Native American practices, but a friend of mine seems to think that the dream was a vision of my "totem animal." When a boy reaches maturity, he is supposed to have a vision that reveals an animal that he shares characteristics with. This also determines his societal position. Interestingly enough, I once read that seeing oneself in a dream with certain animal characteristics is a something of a personification of one's own abilities. I guess that would explain the balance and quick reflexes
Don't give up on deciphering your dreams! It's my belief that all dreams have meaning no matter how chaotic they may appear. You seem to me like the type who has already looked into dream analysis for yourself, so just remember one thing: Don't look to others or books to attach meanings to what you see in your dreams. The key to analyzing your own dreams lies in what you feel about these symbols individually as well as in the context they are presented in while you dream. Also, if you can, try to write your dreams down in as much detail as you can after you have them so that you won't risk skewing the meaning.
It can be hard to do (heck, I just finished analyzing a dream that I had about a year ago!), but with enough thought and patience, you'll be able to find some things out about yourself that you might not have known otherwise! I've always said that trying to figure out your own dreams is like trying to look at your own heart with a telescope. Don't worry though; it's difficult, but it can still be done

It's funny that this should come up; because I recently wrote a journal entry about dreaming and some related stuffs. They do say that you should keep a tape recorder or something by your bed so you can dictate your dream quickly before it fades. And I agree that analyzing dreams is an entirely subjective matter; a lot of books have been written about dream symbols, and a lot of them are baloney. Or bologna. Whatever.
