Description Warning: GIANT file!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the english-mistakes on some parts I'm no native speaker so it's pretty hard to get the things said that I want to say sometimes

Why is tutorial so hard to read/ not straight but instead you have to scroll up in the middle?

Reason is simple: I wanted to do it that way But from previous tutorials I know that there are no deviations longer than 9999 pixel allowed... And after writing Part 1-3 I was at 9000 pixel, so I had to make the layout this way Hope you understand ^^ Thanks~

Official:

Here is the promised lesson about cloth-design and ornaments! I can only repeat it again and again: Practice is the key to success~

Homework:
All I can ask you to do for homework is to practice. Try the different things like magic circles and laces in your own style and experiment with them a little

This lesson was written by exclusively for and Please don't repost it anywhere without my written permission!!!

Skye and Elliot are the mascots of

Elliot was designed by Skye by

Programs:
Sketch, Color and Tutorial: Photoshop CS
Ink and Ornaments: MangaStudio 4.0
Additional media: Wacom Tablet and loads of music...

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Regards,

~Deamond

Semi-official:

Wanna practice even more?
Give yourself a challenge! Make a list of words that you want to put into your cloth design! Words that have nothing to do with each other and somehow combine them in an outfit!
And if it was fun to you and you want a real challenge, check out my contest ( lol) [link]

Personal:

*dead* x_X

Alright, guys,... Here it is... and I'm officially insane that I did this... OTL OTL OTL

This must be the most giant tutorial I ever wrote

My back hurts, my neck hurts, my fingers hurt but HELL YES I'M HAPPY AND SATISFIED! I kinda butchered Elliot's and Skye's design but... come on they are chibis!! Sorry, achiru >_<

When I saw Elliot's design the very first time I was thinking right away 'They look as if they could be constantly fighting...' lol I don't know why, but making my charas fight each other all the time is a prove of my love for them xD POOR THEM!!!!

Ehem... LOL!!!!

Hope you enjoy~~~ *can go die happily now* TwT

I love what you did with the Tutorial Deamond, thje charatcers work very well together and play off each other in a nice sarcastic manner that is not very distracting from the piece.
there is plenty of good information here and i would come close to saying this a complete tutorial but there is one piece i thought was overlooked. "Shading"
i know shading is pretty much user's choice as with the entire piece but i noticed that you went from the Color Schemes to straight finished art,and although it seems like i am nit-picking here i still loved the overall piece.

Very Well done tutorial, i agree with
-achiru- that the piece could have very well been broken intomany piece andthat the layout was a "little" hard to read but again that is still pulling hairs on a tutorial with a lot of depth and work placed into it.

Like others have said, this is too big to read. I can barely even load it! D: It's readable at 1/3 of the size-- why so big?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Deamond-89 In reply to crystalAlluvion [2010-01-13 10:48:50 +0000 UTC]

Cause I wanted to make it longer, without the break in between... Problem is: DA doesn't accept art taller than 9999pixel and I 7000 pixel after part 1 already. Besides, it is better for people to be able to see the lines of the example-pics better than when they are so small.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

crystalAlluvion In reply to Deamond-89 [2010-01-14 02:16:39 +0000 UTC]

That's not my problem-- the image itself is HUGE both ways, and it slows my normally okay connection way down. It was unreadable for me until I copied it into Photoshop. And the lines are still very clear at half the size...

I really like your comment at the end about appreciating your work. I know an artist who never sees what is good in her work.

The tutorial would be easier to read if you didn't have to scroll to the top halfway through. Also, it might be a good idea to make it narrower, since some people have smaller screens. The font would still be legible if it was a little smaller.

Overall it's a great lesson.

It is most important in my opinion If you don't like what you create, how are others supposed to like it? ^^
