You are wanting an icon, yes? To use for like messanger, or LiveJournal, right?

Sure. Sounds reasonable.
...but...how do you make one?

You can make an icon any way you want...with simply saying to the messanger "Here, use this image, and don't f*ck it up, damnit!!". Or, finding an image small enough to fit into that tiny, annoying square of 100x100 pixals.

Or you can become creative, and actually make one.

Again...but how?

Well...here's a way to make a simple icon.
...no animation...just...simple. More/less.

Generally, regular Microsoft Paint could be used...
...but the down-side is the blending of an image is killed with Paint use.

So...
...hopefully you have something like Paint Shop Pro...preferably a most recent version (I use PSP 8).
You can use any program, really...including Paint, just, you'll be limited.

Mind you...this is not an animated icon tutorial...
...that will come later.
